He is telling us not to be discourage on things on our sorroundings because Satan is going around us to commit sin and to do bad things while on earth living within this world of sins. Satan is the god of this world of sins.

We should have courage to go against the temptation of Satan to be a bad man,to do worse things which are not good for God.We should not be afraid to die b ecause God is waiting for us in Heaven. Our body flesh will die but our soul or spirit will remain to be with God forever and live in the paradise of Heaven with God.

God said all those words often because this world we live in is just a temporary place for us. God placed us in this world that He gave us the chance to prepare ourselves that we may be worthy to be with HIM into the next life. God doesn't want you to go to hell- He created you and He loves you so.

People sometimes do forget Him in times of trouble, trials, sickness, pain, etc. That's the reason why He keeps on telling over and over again to remind us that HE's there. We must have faith on HIM not just by knowing HIM. Just enough faith my friend.

Because like a Parent, God nurtures his children by helpingthem develop Strength and Courage.... like when we were kids learning to ride a bicycle after a few time with training wheels and hand holding, Once confidence is gained, the training wheels come off...

Then after some time of hand holding the bicycle, the "Parent" has to let go of the bicycle to allow the child the experience and the knowledge of riding the bicycle on his/her own. But there will be a few times, the child will fall, but these are "Learning" falls... it is these moments the "Parent" is on standby to pacify and let the child not be afraid....

You know the bible has been written in so many versions that it's no wonder we have so many different faiths.

I'm guessing that back in b.c. in some areas of the world if you believed in God you were considered outcasts. Take for example Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they didn't want to believe in "Nebuchadnezzar's" Gods so he tried to burn them in a furnace, yet they came out fine.

So, I'm guessing, when God say be strong and courageous he means in your faith in him. And when he says do not be afraid, I'm guessing he means of man because no weapon formed against them shall prosper. I hope that makes sense and help you!

God wants us to trust in Him and if we truly trust Him then we will not be afraid of what is to come.

Because Fear is negative and encouraged by darkness. It hinders one from relying on God or accomplishing goals.
Jesus said, Consider the lilies of the field and the birds of the air. God provides for them and you are more precious than they. Fear produces fight or flight. God does not want his children to be afraid.

because phobias are hinderances. if God says "those people over there need your help. you can touch them like others can't" and you're too afraid to go, then you've become a coward unwilling toobey God whole-heartedly and you may have cost someone their salvation. problem!

Does God say that? I was under the impression that people said that and claimed that God said it.

God, if God exists, appears to be pretty much indifferent to what goes on here on earth.
