Vics latest statement, on his dog abuse charges: "It don't matter what I did, or what i do....people always gonna love me anyway". So he thinks he's above the law; because he is famous? because he is rich? or because he is black?
Before u think of pulling the race card. No I am not a racist, I am on Vics' case only because he is a cowardly and ignorant animal abuser. Especially would like to hear from black people interested in justice, not in rationalizing vics' cruelty.

I think that no matter how much money you have, if you force animals to fight that wouldn't be fighting otherwise, you should serve jail time. No plea bargaining, no paying a fine which would be pocket change to someone like Vick.
It's one of the cruelest things anyone could do to an animal.
The losing animal doesn't go home to recouperate and fight again later. The losing animal dies in the ring.
Many people don't realize that gamecock fighting and horse fighting are also very common practices.
All animal fighting needs to be put to a stop, no matter how rich the offenders are.

I think that he should be in jail. And hit him with a lot of fines. I am not a racist but he is going to us the race card. I love pit bulls. I have my pit bull that passed away tattooed on my back. I think by what he said shows how ignorant he really is. But people are going to look at what type of dogs he had and us that as a way to pass more laws that will not let you own this breed. People have to understand its how the dog is raised and handled on the way it will react to people. I have been around pit bulls all my life. I have never been harmed by one. I have had two since i have been with my husband and now that is the only kind of dog he wants because of the way they really are. My big problem with animal abusers like him is that the law sees animals as property. So even if someone did not fight the dog but keep it in a cage for 23hours a day as long as there is food and h2o nothing can be done. And things need to change if we want to help the animals not just this breed. I did get off the Question a little but i just needed to let people know what i thought.

Well, I think that animal abuse laws are way too lax as it is. Regardless of fame or fortune, he will probably get away with a fine and some piece of paper that says he can't own another animal for however long the "penalty" is these days. Which is never enforced anyway, so I don't even know why they bother. Have you seen those animal planet shows where they are constantly going to homes of people on these lists who miraculously have more animals and are STILL abusing them. It makes me sick just to think about it.

The best thing we can do as an outraged community is to lobby our lawmakers for more harsh animal cruelty laws. Until something changes there are always going to be people who abuse animals and just pay the fine when they get caught.

He seems to act as tho he is above the law, but I am cautiously awaiting the outcome of this whole ordeal because of the affect it will have on the image of the NFL is nothing does happen. Now that an informant claims that "not only did Vick know about the illegal dog fights happening on his property but he was one of the major players involved in the betting. Sometimes betting as much as 40k.", Mike Vick will be under even more scrutiny. I think even he knows that something will come of this because in that same interview when asked if he would be exonerated his only comment was "No comment." A suspension should be the least that happens to him. Don't know his criminal record but he will probably get probation for his involvement. Unfortunately for Falcons fans and ownership he has thus far only been hype.

Anyone with a name or money is above the law. It is really a shame. They need to pay for crimes just as anyone else. NO ONE can make me believe that he didn't know what was going on. He owned the property, and is responsible for anything that goes on there. There is no justice system The criminals have all of the rights, victims have none. I am so sick and tired of people downing dogs that fight. It is NOT their fault, it is the degenerate human that trains them to fight. Dog fighting is a money maker. It is illegal, and whomever participates in this should be prosecuted and convicted, serve the maximum in prison. P.S. I believe that you are not a racist. It just so happens that he is black.

I think the reason he might get away with a lot is because he's rich AND black. I don't believe that he's above the law, but I think he can get away with a lot because he has so much money. I also think that part of the reason that he was into dog fighting was because he had a lot of money and he could get a lot of money from betting on the dogs.

I think that ignorant people that don't care about animals will still love him because of how good he is at football. I think that's all he meant by that statement. He thinks he's invincible because he has a lot of money too.

In child development, it has been noted that if a child is cruel to animals, he may become a troubled teen. There are far too many documented cases of teens who have killed people starting by being cruel to animals.

In cases of abuse, it is noted that if a man (or woman) is cruel to animals, there is a strong chance he/she will be cruel to children and even his/her spouse.

In other words, cruelty to animals usually is a sign of something far greater to come.

I wrote in another thread how I became angry with my 2 puppies this morning after they caused some damage (despite me training them about this topic for several weeks). I yelled in my anger - and this caused one pup to hide and the other urinated in fear. I felt like a true heel. I thank God, though, that I have the ability to see my faults. I was able to calm myself and properly train them and we all had a great day. The thought of doing something worse, like hitting them, would have devestated me.

Yet, others think nothing of hitting their pets (or children). Worse, still, are those who think of animals as some creature beneath us. These heartless souls feel that animal fighting is a "sport". Yes, dogs, fight to the death for our amusement! I don't care if this is hunting, bull-fighting, cock-fighting or dog-fighting - it's unnecessary. I'm even opposed to animal racing. Dogs that are raced are literally tossed aside if they aren't good enough or after their best days are over. Horses that hurt themselves due to the pressure WE HUMANS put on them are "euthanized" (I can't help but wonder if it's the owner who should be euthanized, not the horse).

In other words, I also feel that animal cruelty laws should be FAR more strict, even in "legal" sports. I'm not talking about penalizing the person who hoards dogs or cats. These people may be bad owners because they simply cannot care for 10-25 animals, but their hearts are in the right place. I'm talking about people who leave their dogs outside all day, in the heat or cold, with no fresh water, little food or too tight collars. Those who let their animals become infested with parasites. Those who hit or hurt their animals. Those who let their dogs run free or their cats out at night, and wonder why they wind up dead on the road the next day. And even those who readily give up their pets so that they can move into a better home. These people should pay dearly in some form.

Michael Vic and his brother are playing a dangerous game. It is only a matter of time before something happens to them. Public opinion of the Vics was borderline O.K. Vic helped his team win, he was given some breathing room. When his team loses or his skills decline, and they will, let's see how fast the public turns on him then. And all the forgiveness they are giving him now will come back to haunt him far worse soon.

I recently heard about this and was SHOCKED!!!! I think that he should have to pay millions of $$$$ and be thrown in a pen with about 50 dogs. I hope that the courts are not lenient on him just because he has money. I hate that. I don't understand why people think that dog fighting is so great. It is an awful thing to see.

Once a thug, always a thug...he just happens to be a very rich thug...
Does anyone remember his brother? He was caught on film during a football game stomping on and injuring another player.
I'm sure Vick knew NOTHING about 60-70 fighting dogs kept on property he owned.
