Well, it's going to depend on the infraction and the reason for the ticket. You will have a fine for the actual infraction plus your court costs.
As far as paying for it, here in my state, you can either appear in court, pay it off by taking it to the courthouse or just mailing it in, or if you cannot pay it then some type of diversion can be set up in order for you to pay it off that way.

This depends on the Violations Bureau in your area for the state you are from. Contact the Municipal Court in your area before you pay the ticket and they will tell you what you owe. In many cases you can request a payment plan to help if you are on a fixed income. Good Luck

look on the paper the officer gave you or can you not read either, you can't ask a proper question when you only give half the info or maybe a quarter of it at best.
