The reason is the oil companies are GREEDY SOB's who dont care about what we can or cant afford they just want to line their pockets. And they will continue to do so unless we do something about it. We need to call our congressmen, state reps, the Governor, and whoever else we can think of and tell them to do something about it or we will recall them and they will have to get a real job. They tell us the gas tax and all lotto proceeds go to our schools yet theyr'e still broke too! Sombody is not telling us the whole truth dont you think? By the way I live in MI too.

You're not kidding about the schools being poor. Nessecity? But seriously. Where are gas prices high? Adjusted for inflation, they are the same as they were 27 years ago. Adjusting for inflation is what we do to measure the increase in prices as it relates to the value of money. One way we do that is to look at how much wages increase compared to how much prices increase. If you want to see high, go to Europe. You will know gas prices are high here when no one buys a vehicle that gets under 20 miles per gallon.

Wrong Andri - during second world war the Germans manufactured synthetic gasoline.
But getting to the question, you all are probably not going to agree with me, but I think it's due to the US dollar crashing. The Euro, Czech crown, and even the Philippine peso (which is not saying much) where I live now, last year used to be 55P to the dollar, and now is at 46.
What ever happened to the good ole times?? I used to buy gas (regular) for 24 - 27 cents a gallon and saw it as low as 19c.

There are many contributing factors that are involved when it comes to the rising gas prices. One of the main reasons that gas prices are high right now is due to the fact that summer is upon us. Each summer, gas prices rise due to the fact that this particular season is considered "peak" when it comes to travel. When people travel more, the U.S is required to purchase more oil from other countries in order to meet the demands.
Summer gas price increases also occur as the result of having to purchase more oil from other countries in order to effectively power the companies that produce electricity. With so many people running pool pumps, air conditioners, and extra fans in and around the home in the summer months, gas prices are sure to increase.
In the season of the fall, gas prices will begin to go down once again.
In addition to the summer gas price increase, there are also numerous political reasons why this is occuring. (As we all know).
While gas prices are on the rise, you may be interested in ways that you can save money. I have an article that I wrote that may assist you with this. You can find it at:

likely lol , it in basic terms relies upon which reason they offer us this time for it.before it become because the fee of oil going up.Now their declaring fee of oil, is in basic terms a small outcome. Then it become the hurricanes which i'm able to understand. Then it become for replacing the blends from iciness to summer season and the opposite for later contained in the 365 days. And on an internet site i become analyzing additionally they stated that, opec become purposly decreasing production with the help of like a million million barrels an afternoon.that could then rigidity up call for.(so as that they are paying fewer human beings to artwork, yet getting tripple the earnings decrease back it no more advantageous.)that does no longer, make all and sundry elect to boost call for.additionally they use the scarce tactic, the position they imagine they're going to have a scarcity so as that they jack up expenditures more advantageous in any case.and each and each 365 days they save rasing it,and rasing it So from is seams like no man or woman fairly is conscious, you'll listen about one element then per week later, the fee drives up and theres no explination.the united stateshas a oil reserve with tens of millions and if no more advantageous crammed with oil.and they are contantly looking new places with assorted oil,in basic terms seams like opec in basic terms needs to make money. the authorities might want to some how, positioned a cap on the % they can make (opec, marathon,bp ect) as earnings, because its pretty a lot a monopoly.I dont see why giving them more advantageous money because its particularly low, helps with this so referred to as :scarcity".some imagine it has to do some thing with pres. Bush, yet im no longer particular will be achieveable, yet im no longer going there.yet i visit assert venezeula has oil yet because their president(Chavez) hates Bush,so as that they decline to do any organization.sturdy success on sorting out the actual answer, i imagine it would want to pi** alot of folk off, if we ever fairly got here across out.base line, someones getting wealthy on the expence of others,on a neccesity and many that could not arise with the money for it.Like i stated, OPEC and the bigger gas station organizations are a monopoly in theirselfs.because we haven't the different source and they have us with the help of the balls, even with they say, is going.
