When I got mine done it didn't hurt at all. The only way I knew my piercer had pierced it was when she cleaned the little bit of blood up. But remember everybody has a different tolerance for pain. What may be painless for one person may hurt another. Mine was around $40-50. To be sure you should call a few different piercing shops in your area to get a definite estimate on the cost. The standard is 14g but usually range from 16g-14g. I've never seen anyone get an 18g.

Yea, it really does hurt. It takes a very long time to heal too. I got mine done in December, and even tho I cleaned it twice a day it still did't heal entirely until last month. The needle is definitely worse than the clamp too. I'd say this is one of the most painful piercings and most piercists would agree. It hurt even more than my tongue. If there's any shops in your area that have deals, like "anything for 20" than take them up on it. But if there aren't you can pay anywhere from 30-60 bucks. Do a little shopping around first, make sure the place you go has a good rep, looks clean, and uses clean instruments. Overall, the piercing is really worth it tho. Its friggin hot. Just make sure you can have it wherever you work! And if you don't have a job, get one first! They aren't accepted very widely!

Not sure if it hurts, but I have both sides of my lip done. I'd think that it'd be easier than that since your lips are bigger than the monroe piercing. I was fine for my snakebites. Just a pinch and you're done.
The price would be up to your piercer. I paid 45 for my lip the first time, and the second side (4 months later I decided I wanted to go from having one side done, to having snakebites.) only cost me 30 cause I've gone to the same piercer for every piercing I have aside from my tongue.
My lip is at 16 gauge. I've never heard of your monroe being done at anything other than 16 or 14. 18 would be WAY too small and it would tear up the inside of your lip. The piercer should let you pick what gauge you want it at.
As with all my other piercings, clam hurts WAY worse.
lol.

Just had my monroe done in march. Compared to my other piercings (belly, nipples, hood, tongue, and nose) it was relatively painless. Bit of a pain in the *** to heal as you hafta heal it like a facial piercing and an oral piercing but all is well now. I believe mine cost me about 50 bucks and its a pretty standard 16 guage 18 is too small and 14 is huge!

A little, what freaked me out was hearing my skin pop when the needle went through my skin! Mines cost $50 but it's closed now and I have to get it redone.

I had mine pierced years in the past and in spite of the actual shown fact that it did not quite harm it grow to be a wierd sensation. They mark the tongue, as to the place to pierce it at. Then they'll clamp it with a pair of hemostats. they permit you to appreciate to take a deep breath in and to exhale and once you exhale they push the huge hollowed out piercing needle by way of your tongue. I have been given quite heat in a while and sort of went into marvel, I walked exterior the keep to get some clean air and puked. I puked in basic terms as quickly as and once I did I felt completely superb. The healing technique is what hurts once you get your tongue pierced. it is going to swell up, as i'm specific you recognize. it is going to likely be quite annoying to consume till the swelling is going down and you may desire to be avid approximately keeping it clean. you do not prefer YOUR TONGUE TO grow to be contaminated!!! Rinse your mouth out with Listerine many times!! once you consume, drink (something besides water), or smoke (in case you do). Your tongue is the quickest portion of your physique to heal. easily something interior your mouth, heals quicker than something. you may desire to be feeling the swelling occurring in some days in a while and via the time a week passes you may desire to be quite good and healed. the downside to having your tongue pierced is that it will harm YOUR the teeth. you additionally could be conscious that the suitable and backside balls on the barbell will irritate the roof of your mouth and under your tongue. I had mine for sort of three years and then it without warning all started quite tense the roof of my mouth and under my tongue, so undesirable that i ultimately in basic terms took it out. good luck :)
