I am almost 15 and I haven't started dating yet. I haven't started yet because I am kinda shy and because I live in a small town. Everyone I know started dating at 16 so I think that I HAVE to have a boyfriend when I am 16....what do you think??

girl. i think u just WANT a relationship cos everyone is doing it. i've frens up till age of 21 and still never dated before thou she has guys after her. thou me and a few of my frens started around 14. (just fyi so u dun think that i come from some weird culture that start dating at 25 or whatever)
so... let nature takes its course. if u are to fall in love or whatsoever. then i congratulate u and wish u all the best. but no point forcing. happiness will not come out of that.
think about it. the choice is yours.

You certainly do not HAVE to have a boyfriend at 16. If you turn 16 and people start questioning the fact that you don't have a boyfriend, you can respond with something like, "I'm trying to get through school before I can deal with a man." The thing is in most young teens, they start dating very early on, and deal with many emotional things during this time that takes away from what is really important, home, school, extra curricular activities. Trust me honey relationships are hard, do you really want to spend the easiest years of your life making them hard?

Don't do events like that (dating at 16). You should start dating now or later... it's up to you. Sure, I don't want a girlfriend, and I'm 12! If you like someone A LOT, then start hanging out for a year or 2 and then start dating... Don't rush things too quickly!

Try not to feel like your 17th birthday is a deadline. You won't be the female version of the 40 year old virgin if you don't have a boyfriend by that time.
Hang around guys more, find one you like, talk to him. If he can hold a decent conversation, try a little light flirting - smile at him, mess with his hair, poke him (for fun). If he responds well, then move on as you feel more comfortable...and if your parents are fine with it, go out with him. If you're nervous to go out alone, bring another couple :) Just don't expect them to pay too much attention to you.

you don't have to have a bf when your 16... im 15 almost 16 and almost every single one of my friends are 16 and half of them had a bf when they were 16 and the other half that didn't said they were glad they didnt...
