How do you remain Christ like in stressful situations? I'm working in a detox unit at the moment and getting yelled at by a drunk liberal woman and is about to drive me insane. She's yelling, beating on the doors, calling me every name in the book you name it. What would Jesus do in this situation?

I should add she is a satanist. Don't know if that matters or not but her little 666 t-shirt screaming I swear to satan is really kinda pitiful

Think about Jesus on the cross---do you remember what he said? "forgive them father for they know not what they do"

You KNOW that this woman is not in her right mind....pity her rather than be angry with her.

I am sorry she is harassing you, that must be difficult.
I think you are doing the right thing now by taking a look at the situation and wondering how Jesus would react to it.
I believe He would try and feel compassion for the woman and what she must be going through, He would pray for her and try and realise that this may be a sign that she is detoxing and will hopefully get clean.

God Bless

Jesus remained silent before the screaming mob.

Dearest one - there is never any reasoning with an intoxicated person. They are always a storm of rebellion and often misplaced rage. She can't hear you while she's intoxicated.

It isn't really you she is screaming at - if she were alone in a room with a post - she'd scream at the post.

Precious... BREATHE. Pray for God to center you in the midst of the storm, and ask for Him to silence her - specifically by her given name - in Jesus' name.

Father God - Our dear friend is being sorely assailed - and is already deeply wounded on other fronts. In this weakest time, precious Lord - YOU are strongest. Just as you calmed the sea with the streatching forth of your hand, dear Jesus - silence this intoxicated woman. Bring her sleep and detoxification. Give our dear brother H2Oand Spirit a peaceful night with Your loving presence so nearby. In Jesus' name - Amen.

what you can do is pray.ask god to continue allowing you to set the atomosphere in the place.even though she is abusive to you ,you remain cool and prayerful.this is where the fruits of the spirit come in.remember you cannot allow anyone else to dictate to you how you are going to feel.go to work saying i have the victory, she will not steal my joy.there is nothing wrong with praying on the job.so start praying before you get there the night before, ask the lord for peace of mind.some people act out because they know they can get to you,but if you dont respond the way they want sooner or later they will figure out they cant get to you.i am praying for you.

I know that situations like these can be stressful, just
tell the woman that her anxieties will be over soon and
that the alcohol cravings will pass. Tell her that God loves
her and that he has sent you to help. You have to remember
that addictions are horrible things and people coming
off of these have no idea what they are saying or doing.

God Bless you

Consider the source, that it is Satan calling you names and yelling

Ignore him...............

Do your job as peaceful as you know how, if you can learn to love them and except them for what they are, knowing that most have the mind of a child it will be much better

Please remember that whatever this detoxing woman is saying, is coming from her relationship with alcohol. It really has nothing to do with you; I highly doubt she even knows you exist as an individual! She would yell at anybody or nobody; her body is wracked with the pain of DT's, and she is expressing that pain.

DON'T take it personally. Also, DON'T give this whacked-out drunk any personal information about yourself!

You have been trained for this job, right? If she appears to be harming herself with her tantrum, I'm sure you have protocol to follow.

WWJD?
1. Pray
2. Have compassion for this slave of alcohol (that is what she is), and help her recover.
3. Follow the law.

Jesus also had the ability to instantly heal people of their personal demons. For Him, that was an option. Sorry, it doesn't seem to be one of yours! You will have to pray for wisdom, patience, and guidance.

Well, Jesus would touch her and heal her.
I, however would try to remind myself that Jesus died for her as well as for me and that he loves her too. Then pray that God would help me to understand this woman and calm her down. Try telling her that Jesus loves her. She may have never heard this before.

Can you be a blessing in some way to this woman? That is what we are called to do. Love your enemies and show it. Can't say that I would actually be able to do this without the power of God working in me- so better pray first!

Hi, h2o &spirit...Jesus would rebuke the demons that are in her. You have the same authority, you dont have to do it to her face...just silently rebuke them. I will be praying with you and for you.
