Saving the world? From what? Many people see different threats to the world. Some people use "saved" as a euphenism for becoming a christian. But the heart of your question, regardless of what your definition of "saved" is, is how do you do it? You don't. To believe, or even envision that you have the power to save the world is messianic. A lot of people thought they could save the world; Hitler, Jim Jones, Muslim terrorists, rabid christians. That is about using a goal, phrased as if it were noble, to promote your own agenda. And what is your agenda? Feeding the poor? Eradicating disease? Protecting the environment?
It is a philosophical paradox that any individual who sets out to save the world won't, and can't. What you can do is live your life according to the morals, ethics, and actions that you believe are true and correct. While you cannot save the world, by making your actions coincide with what you value, you affect those around you. You can't save the world, but you can change it. I hope it is for the better. Good luck.

Billions of years the world has been in existence, and humans only on it for a very, very short time. The world doesn't need saving, it's the people that are in trouble.

I think the world will shake humans off like a dog shakes off a flea and just keep right on spinning.

Better yourself. Thats the only way to save the world..A man thought of saving the world and realized its too big a deal. then he thought of his country..state..city..Finally he realized that if everyone tries to improve himself the world will change. You cannot change the way others think...you have to get better and be an example and then try changing others...I think the world needs to be saved from humans..destroying everything..example: hardly few people are injured by sharks and the hype is so much. Hundreds of thousands of sharks are killed by humans ..that doesnt mean a thing!

You could write something so unforgettable and touching that it is passed down through generations. Or you could write a jingle, like for Oscar Meyer, that promotes welfare and peace because people can't get it stuck out of their heads. Truly, though, not everyone wants the world to be saved.

You have to start slow, trust me. It begins with finding cures to diseases and allowing everyone to live longer. Then come the battles with evil governments bent on compromising people's rights. Next, you have to protect the world from alien invasion and also keep the population relatively static. After that, there are all of the Exit Mundi catastrophes.

"OH MAN - KNOW THYSELF"

This is where it all starts, the self.
We must help our brothers and sisters, no doubt!
But to really be of benefit to mankind we must come to an understanding of who we are, so we can see the truth in the things we do and how it affects others.
If we can teach ourselves to fish then we can teach others to fish also.
