Yes i did when i was 19. it was larposcopic surgery. they cut 4 holes around my stomache and used those camera things and pulled the whole pouch out with that tool out of one of the holes. that incision wound up being like 1 1/2 " long becuase the gall stones were big. after having it out you will get a lot more heart burn ( mine is like acid reflux disease ) , also i gained a lot of wegiht, and if you eat anything greasy u will be on the toilet going #2 within a half an hour.

Piece of cake. Your in for 36 hours or so and then home.
There is one little thing that could happen and it has happened to me, my sister, and others that weren't related.
You could find that for a year or so, when you have to go " Big " potty. Don't wait for one second. You may find that Big potty is more like diarrhea for awhile. Body adjusting I guess.Took me about a year and a half but I am sure others takes less time and maybe none at all.
The band aid type surgery they do now is really nothing. You will have a cut inside your navel, and three basically following your rib cage from sternum to right side. Cuts will be about 1 inch if that. The beauty of all of this is you can eat whatever you want after that and you wont get sick.
The hepatic-biliary scan is worse than the surgery. Good luck on this for you.

The surgery was godsend. I was in and out of the hospital the same day. I did get sick afterwards but that was due to the drugs they used to put me to sleep. Maybe ask your doctor for some anti Nausea medicine for afterwards.
The first day I was sore and had to sleep on the couch I could not sleep in my bed at all. Within 3 days I was feeling great. If you are nervous going in ask your doctor if they can give you something in your IV to help calm your nerves. I was 16 they gave me something to help calm me and it worked I wasn't freaking out at that point. Good luck to you. Hope your recovery is speedy.

I had it done 13 years ago. It was microscopically done. I stayed over night and felt fine within two days. I was limited, as per my doctor not to lift anything for 6 weeks.
