The only answer to the first question is, perhaps to try to fix the damage we have already inflicted on the country with the invasion. But evidence has clearly shown that we are doing more harm than good, and the situation worsens with each day.
The answer to your second question is, perhaps freeze the assets and overseas bank accounts of every private company involved in the war in Iraq. Halliburton, Raytheon, CACI, Blackwater, KBR, L3 Titan, and all the other smaller subsidiaries who have taken billions of dollars from Iraq and the American tax payer in war profiteering. The billions of "lost" dollars in oil revenues, faked invoices, and outright fraud may even be found in the private bank accounts of some politicians too. If those funds could be recovered, no citizen would have to worry about the debt.

Forget for a moment all the politics. Forget all the anit Bush stuff for a sec. Forget the WMD stuff.
Al Qaida is who attacked us on 9/11. Al Qaida is who we are fighting today in Iraq. We have made the enemy come to us and still kept the bloodshed off of American soil. Nobody wants to pay for this war. However the war is here and quiting will be the end of us.

If we leave now, a war will break out in Iraq between 3 groups- sunni, shite, & kurds. all control will be lost. (the iraqi govt. itself needs to do more!) this will cause other middle eastern countries to join in on any of these sides to find against the other 2 sides. all this will cause a huge war in the entire middle east, which will cause the rest of the world , including the U.S.A. to react. this consequence should have been thought of my washington before the war even started. (HOW DO WE GET OUT once we're in?)

I saw several good answers....It boils down to this though.
If we leave early it will create a vacuum, can't leave before their Military and Elected Govt are strong enough.....not a good place for the country's that hate us or terrorists in the middle east to step in and control-----That would put all the middle eastern oil supply's in jeopardy. Its a catch 22 situation

...if the only concern is money...because it would cost alot more to fix up another 911 should it eventuate... which there's a high likelihood of that happening if america was to pull out...
This about the future, not only the present.

I'll tell you how we should pay for a lot of it. That's by charging a large portion of it back to the Bush family and canceling all the tax cuts for them and super-wealthy individuals and corporations.

We shouldn't. This war has gone from:
"Saddam has WMDs and is a threat to the world!"
to
"We have to fight them there, so we don't have to fight them here."
But don't worry about us not paying it back.
With the middle class almost extinct and the poor already there, deficits don't really matter anymore! (In the latter words of Dick Cheney: "Deficits don't matter.")
