I dont think NASCAR will ever be a old pastime. I dont think the ppl involved will let it become that. I think Nascar is more interesting then Baseball because anything can happen. You never know when there is gunna be a crash. you never know who is gunna win it sometimes comes down to the last few laps. and with Baseball you can kinda tell after awhile by the score. Theres much more of a rush when watching a race then when watching a Baseball game.

You have your terminology confuzzled. Baseball is the "National Pastime", has been for years. NASCAR is a religion and a way of life. For all of you NASCAR bashers, once ethanol makes its way to the fuel pumps as the full-time replacement for gas, your argument about "when the gas runs out" will be useless. They already use synthetic oil, who do you think did the testing of that? NASCAR, that's who.

If it happens it will be a long time from now. Where a baseball game can sellout 60000 to 70000. A stock car race can sell 250000 for one event and it does. You need to go to the Brickyard it is crazy.

I guess it would depend on how passionate someone is about their hobby. It could be football or hockey or the two mentioned in your question. But I feel alot of people will be true to what they like...something about an engine racing. I love it!

It may fade for a while but will never die. For as long as there has been something to race be it feet, horses or lawnmowers. racing will always be around.
