My daughter was about age 5 or 6 when we went bowling one night, she fell and hit her head on the concrete floor. She instantly got a big knot on her forehead. The Manager seen it happen and since we was taking her to the E.R. to have it checked, he insisted on paying for it.
Anyway everything checked out ok. she ended up with some awful looking black eyes.
I did watch her carefully thru out that night, making sure she was ok.

You absolutely did the right thing taking him to the ER and she should have called you immediately. You need to let her know if anything like this ever happens again she is to call you the minute it happens. My caregiver fell with my son when he was 3 months old and he hit his head on a cement floor. I called the nurse line and they said he is probably fine, I still went to the ER and he ended up having a fracture skull. He had to have scans for 6 months and everything turned out fine but I was sick with worry. If the docs did tests and said he's fine then he's fine. Don't make yourself worry about something that has already happened and you can't change. Kiss your baby, be happy he's fine and know you did the right thing and your husband needs to take your side in this completely.

She's probably fine. Especially if she only cried for less than a minute. There will be many more falls. I can assure you this will not be her first. You may want to avoid tiles as much as possible, but it's hard for babies at this age to NOT fall down. If you are worried about it, take her to a doctor and get her checked out, but I think she is fine. Also, signs to look for of a head injury (from a recent late night call to my pediatrician), vomiting, and inability to wake them up. Don't worry! I'm sure she's fine.

I have been through the clumsiness of a 14th month old twice and we are having our third. When it comes to the head if the child would have fractured something he/she would have cried for quite some time. Also, if they seem dissoriented, confused or start talking gibberish that can be of concern. It sounds to me like your little one has is a case of clumsinitis.......yours and about a million others hahah and sometimes adults have it too!

Kids fall all the time and hit their heads. She should be just fine. Keep an eye on her , make sure she doesn't seem unusually drowsy, nausea, vomiting, unexplained fever, unequal pupil sizes. These are just a few things to watch for, but I am pretty sure you have nothing to watch for. If you notice any unusual behavior she should be seen by either her pediatrican or if unable to do that take her to an emergency room. Hope everything is ok!

I'm certainly not a doctor but my guess would be that she is just fine. I think if something was really wrong she would have cried longer and would not be consoled. My daughter has fallen down several times on the tile and on the pavement outside. Unfortunately it is something that isn't preventable but I wouldn't worry.

The circle will soon go away. You can always put an ice pack on her she will be fine. When babies are learning to walk they fall alot. If that was the first time I'm sure it will not be the last.

She could be fine but at 14 months she can't tell you how she feels, she may have sustained a concussion-watch her don't permit her to sleep too much. You didn't mention when she fell-I would notify my doctor, better safe than sorry. I hope all is well.

It is always better to be safe then sorry. Please take her to be checked. Hopefully nothing is wrong, but with every head injury, you need to take precautions. It can appear that nothing is wrong, then it can quickly progress into something serious. You may be looking at a simple contusion (bruise) all the way to a possible fracture and brain damage. You will be told to watch her for atleast 24 to 48hours. That includes checking her every hour (awake or asleep) to see that her pupils ( the black circles in the center of her eyes) react to light equally. You can do this with a flashlight. The pupils should get bigger without light and smaller with light shone into them. They should also be equal. Absolutley equal. I do not want to detour you from going to the doctor, but if you opt not to please check your child every hour. This flashlight test is to see if she has obtained any brain damage. The ER will test her thoroughly. Please, just be safe and take her in. Yes, she could have broken her skull. It could be a simple bruise due their amazing resiliance, or she could be bleeding internally. Anything is possible with children.

Crying is the best thing if she continued to cry or didnt cry I would be concerned. Kids are quite durable and dont have to far to fall . If she has just started walking there will be plenty more bumps and bruisers to come till they get there sea legs happening. If your unsure there is no harm in taking her to the doctors it will put your mind to rest.
