Being transsexual, I've fought long and hard for my name. What I want, and what I hope for is that my family will honor my name and not try to change it back. As there is no law governing the engravings on tomb stones, I can only hope that my wishes, my will, etc. will be followed.
Too, it's fortunate that the Government (VA) has finally permitted the use of the Wiccan Pentacle on the stones; I also hope that my family will recognize my faith.

Well....I'm back.
This is the last line in the book Lord of the Rings said by Samwise Gamgee! First reason why is because of my religious beliefs I will finally be back home and second is because I identify with SAM and TLOTR is my favorite book and third just for those who haven't read it yet I may get a smile or a laugh from them, they will say WAS THIS GUY CRAZY OR WHAT?

Don't want a gravestone.
my dad has one and it has my mom's name and the end date open since she is still here. I can barely stand to see it with the date just waiting to be filled. I don't want to do that to my kids...

I always did think it would be cool to have a gravestone that said, “Here lies an atheist — all dressed up and nowhere to go.” But then, I wouldn’t be around to enjoy it! I'd be dead.

My young husband died last summer. We are having a bench made with a traditional Last name, dates of birth/death....a cross with wedding rings and under it "united in Marriage" and the date.
I wanted to put: Beloved parents of X, Y, Z (their names--not really X Y Z!) but my 11 yr old got freaked out by that.....

These are two of the best ones I've heard about:
"I told you I was sick!"
This next one was put on the stone of Mel Blanc. He was the voice of Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and all the other Looney Tunes characters. If you go to his grave site you will see on his stone:
"....that's all folks!"
My wife wants this sung at her burial:
"I'm looking under a four leaf clover..." :)

it is long, but has meaning.
If you came here to remember me, you are in the wrong place. to remember me. to to a high cliff, the top of a mountain, or a quiet stream. it the cliff be your choice promptly jump off of it..and hope that you remembered your parachute. if the mountain be your choice strap on your skis and point them down the steepest side. if the stream be your choice lay back and relax. for these are the things that i did in life. and you wish to remember a life. not a worthless corpse in a fancy box.

Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but through Him.
My name isn't going to matter after a while but that message will.

I like this question...
I think I would have mine read:
"Well now, - THAT was interesting!"
..and for two reasons:
1 - In spite of it's ups and downs, or more likely because of them, Life IS interesting.
2 - I feel the statement touches on the brevity of human Life.
Hey,.. you asked...;-)
