We don't need people brainwashing our children with middle-eastern mythology.

The Bible is a history book. He's in it.
Christianity isnt a religion...its a way of life.
I learned math and history etc in grade school and about Jesus in SUNDAY school. Seemed fair.
There was pass, fail in grade school.
SUNDAY school taught of free will. Taught of faith. Taught it is a matter of will to do what one wants. Taught acceptance of Jesus is a choice. No pass, fail in human terms.
I HAD to accept that Christopher Columbus set sail in 3 ships to America.
Anyway...Jesus is in a history book.
How come youre not struck down by your attitude if he was such a big impact?

Here is the historical method for historical events:
1. When was the source, written or unwritten, produced (date)?
2. Where was it produced (localization)?
3. By whom was it produced (authorship)?
4. From what pre-existing material was it produced (analysis)?
5. In what original form was it produced (integrity)?
6. What is the evidential value of its contents (credibility)?
Does that say anything about it being Contemporary? Nope. In fact, much of what we know about the ancient world comes from sources written hundreds of years latter. Thus follow your method most of ancient history should be unknown to us.
1. Accounts of the Punic Wars come to us from people such as Appian of Alexandria who lived in the late 1st century to mid 2nd century AD (over 300 years after the events) and his account is accepted by modern historians as being accurate.
2. Tacitus, Josephus, and Pliny are some of the most accurate ancient historians. Even though Tacitus was not around when Nero died, his account is still taught as history to this day.
3. Contemporary accounts are not requirements for historians. Stop listening to what people tell you and start reading some real historians with these strange degree things.

Depending on your history book, it may not mention the life of Jesus during the time he was alive, because his impact wasn't very large during his lifetime. However, his impact became huge throughout Europe, especially when the first European kings started adopting Christianity.

The world history book I used for 9th grade is written by Matthew Perry and Jesus was mentioned there. Even Moses and Abraham was mentioned in the book. Their journey (Exodus) is written in many history books, so was the emperor who were reigning when Jesus came to earth and the emperor when He was crucified was there. He is also in the world's best selling book, which is the Bible.

Josephus the historian mentioned him, as well as Pliny the Elder. So there are two historical sources. Jesus' Jewish enemies also wrote about him. So he has been in several historical documents outside of the Bible.
The greatest impact of Jesus on this world are chronicled in the story of his followers.

It's true. There are NO historically valid records of Jesus that verify the accounts in the Bible or even his very existence.
They're going to bring up Josephus, just to warn you. Too bad those writings have been proven forgeries - and EVERY other "historical" account of Christ was based on them.

Because "historically" Jesus never existed. There is no proof that isn't being highly debated as a fraud. However Christianity did change the world but if you kill a few million people because of your faith I guess most people would listen.

Secularism and the public "screwel" system have gotten rid of Him.
You can mention God in a crowd and not too many people freak out. Mention Jesus Christ and people lose their 'friggin' minds. Satans plan!
