I find it quite funny. People invent an entire concept and call it "Heaven" and "Hell" and "God", and start to threaten all of us with their inventions.
And when we question it, mentally challenge them to see the consequences of their invented fairy tales, they answer with "yes, but this not how we invented the fairy tale".
It's cute, really. The entire Bible is a hypothetical situation. How on earth can they have problems with the word "hypothetical"?

What if I hypothetically knew what hypothetical meant?
The reason that people don't seem to understand is
because the question(s) often are not very realistic,
hmm, maybe that is why it is hypothetical, and they can
not view themselves in that particular situation.
but you are right, if they can't view themselves in a
hypothetical situation they should not answer , except they
get 2 points no matter how stupid the response is.

I get the hypothetical part...the question was weird though...which is why I didn't answer. But since you asked "if you don't like the question then how hard is it not to answer?", I will just say that I think if you put any question out there, anyone can reply and you don't get to choose. We didn't like your question, so now you get to not like our answer.

I find that top contributors are usually nice and very helpful. How would they become top contributors by being mean? Nobody would give them best answer. But i also agree with what someone said earlier about stupid questions getting stupid answers. Top contributors answer so many questions on here they probably get sick of the dumb ones and may come off as mean when they answer them.

Hypotheticals make us think outside the box.
Outside the box and you have left your security zone.
I love hypotheticals by the way.

Philosophy students can do thought experiments involving hypotheticals. But many of the people who hang out in the R & S section of YA don't have the education for that kind of thinking... they just don't get it, and are too eager to preach to you to play by your rules. On top of all those obstacles, religiosity is negatively correlated with IQ--Google it to see for yourself.

Your questions are very well stated and tap into something uncomfortable in us, making it personal instead of hypothetical.

Hypothetical. Being or involving a hypothesis. You question struck me as more fantasy than hypothesis.
