I family I know is not making their kids go to school....all 3 of them (appx 13, 9 and 6) and the kids do NOTHING all day but run the neighborhood. I know the situation a little bit and basically the mom (single) doesn't want to put in the effort of sending her kids to school....who do I report this to??? Also these kids are causing trouble all the time (just not legal trouble yet). I really want to call the authorities, but I don't know what authorities to call.

It is legal trouble It is required by law in all states that children of school age must be enrolled and attending some sort of School Private, Public Home based but home based must be an approved home based by the district the child lives in. Call Child Protective Services so the kids can at least get out of your neighborhood and live in a bad foster home and possibly get beat and raped or call the cops so they can be raised by the criminal system to be better at robbing your house when they get out but at least their not bothering you anymore right? Leave them alone unless you know all the story. Single mothers have it hard she might just need help ever ask to help her out? Thats what you could do.

The best thing to do is call children and family services. they will send someone to investigate the claim. You can also call the local police station and see if they have any suggestions. It is against the law not to send your children to school and is punishable by a fine, jail time, and having the children placed in foster homes. It is terrible that a parent would be so neglectful of their off spring.

if they are passing homeschooling exams there is nothing you can do. but you can report suspicious activity to your city's department of child welfare or dept. of human resources.

many times people think that they know situations that they simply do not know anything about. and things like this have a nasty way of getting out.

i would assume that they are home schooled. because the dept of education would send a truency officer if the kids were supposed to be in school and were not. the only way to avoid this is to turn in the home school exams on a regular basis.

Any police. Its against the law. I homeschooled my kids and had problems all the time convincing the police that my kids are really in a legitamate school. It's just at home.

are you sure they aren't home schooled? they don't follow the same schedule that kids in public school follow. the school dist usually knows of all the chlidren in their district and if they aren't enrolled in public school the parents must be able to prove that the kids are home schooled. if you are sure that they are not being schooled, then you could call the district.

well you could try the local police or social services.. although if the children arent in danger and arent committing any illegal acts there isnt much you can do.
