no, what i think amusing is all the so-called christians who think they know everything, but really dont have a clue. they label themselves and others as christians or non. with their attitudes and behavior, they wonder why people trash them. i find you amusing. if everyone was totally confident in their beliefs, this book would have not made such an uproar. maybe that was the reason for it in the first place. look in the mirror.

Actually, I think it's funny when the Christians get mad about it because they think it is real. These people need to realize that Dan Brown is not in the religion section; he is in the fiction section (or mystery/thriller section in my store).
I have seen this phenomena more with Christians than with non-Christians. Like with Harry Potter, they seem to have trouble understanding the concept of fiction.

I am more amazed when some Christians look to a 5,000 year old book written by bronze age nomads as the scientific explanation for the development of life.
And yes I can call them bronze-age nomads. If great x50- grandpa Moses has a problem with it well, I guess he should have rased his kids better.

mush of the "code" is from an earlier book "holy blood holy grail" that is a lot of historic fact, and some theory backed by it.
as far as my friends are concerned. they are well able to see fact and fiction in books.
for the same reasons that you stated, the bible should be right beside it in the fiction section.

Well I do find it ironic that people who believe in a book about talking snakes, walking on water, and talking burning bushes are yelling at those who call the Da Vinci Code "true".

I call them on it the same way I would call any christian friends who believe it.
I tell them gently, "YO! Whatta ya ******* NUTS???? Ya wanna buy a BRIDGE? I could find a hidden mystical pattern in yer ******* eyebrows if I looked for one!"
Gently, of course. And with love. Yeah. Love.

Sorry, I find that it's just the opposite, the only people I have found that think it is true and are offended and frightened by it are Christians.

I never find it amusing when people believe things that are untrue.
