I work as a physical therapist and there are strategies to reduce your pain. Get with a good PT - not a hospital PT, but one that works at a clinic. Hospital PT's lack good ortho skills. However, with that diagnosis you will have some pain (Sorry). The best thing you can do is keep your weight down - most back pain can be greatly reduced by losing weight. I say this because most Americans are either obese or overweight. Good luck to you.

I had some of the same problems when I worked out alot. However, ( and I know this sounds dumb) when I quit the running and retired and got rid of the gun belt and equipment. I feel much better.

Definitely see a bone Doc and other specialists. Its possible you may have a problem with a hip joint. Most of my pain was in the sacro-illial region but also have had occasional sciatica. Nothing bad but I am now overweight so any problem I have now are probably weight related. I do have slight scoliosis also and momma always told me to stand straight too.

Seeing a good Chiropractor probably would hurt either but most MD's do not see eye to eye with Chiros. Sounds like its time for a complete checkup w/ xrays, blood the whole 9 yards. I am only 54 and dont know how old you are so am assuming you're closer to my age.

I wish you luck. Back and leg pain can make life pretty crummy.

Stay away from Chiropractors

Talk to a good Orthopedic Dr. There are actually exercises you can do to strengthen the muscles controlling your lower back. This helped my wife.
