You can be gay and still be a Christian.

I know this is difficult for you. I know that to break away from homosexuality and go to Christianity is an extremely difficult thing to do. I've heard many accounts from ex homosexuals on Christian radio talk about their experiences and struggles.
I can only give you phone # of Pastors who are only so willing to listen and help you establish your feet firmly-perhaps put you in touch with someone who has been there.
There is a young man in this church who is a member who has also turned away from homosexuality.Steve.

Rob 219-933-7013 Ext 226. hopefully will give you some direction.
Keep reaching out, dont give up. Pray for someone to mentor you or otherwise help you. I will pray as well. God Bless You.

Edit: "nocahmama" gave you sound advice and a place to start. Focus on the Family is also a program on Moody Bible Radio that I listen to. WMBI 90.1 in Chgo.

okay, I've never been, but since no one on here seems to be helping you, I guess I could take a crack at giving you advice.

first off, I think it's great that you joined up with the Lord. not everyone has the guts to do that nowadays. good on you.

if you want to be straight, by God's standards all you have to do is believe homosexuality (don't hate homosexuals, don't hate anyone) is wrong, don't condone it and don't practice it. of course, sexual urges are strong, but like any urge you don't have to give into it. God doesn't blame you for what urges you have (hey, your genes, not your mind), just the mindsets you have.

I suggest you don't try to make any compromises though. if you're struggling with it, consult a 'coucellor/shrink', a pastor, or a book on sexual urges. I think there's one called "every young man's battle" for guys.

hope that helps. and don't worry about your past. all is forgiven.

I haven't been through it, but all you need to do (which if you're a new Christian, you've probably done) is to ask forgiveness of your sins and make sure not to repeat them. Jesus loves you, and is proud that you have become a Christian and learned to love Him. Just put your faith in Him.

If you believe in the creator & in yourself you should be fine. Some ppl call themselves Christions but they still judge others. That IS NOT a Christian. To accept others as they are is a true Christian. I am not gay but I was married to a bisexual at one time. I found out and judged him. Of course I left but later I came to the right thinking, he is a human and he has his faults but being different was not a fault. EVERYONE IS EQUAL IN THE EYES OF THE LORD. Be it gay, straight or of color. Bless you my friend

I have never been through this, but go to Focus on the Family's website. They have a ministry called Exodus that addresses this issue. God Bless you! By the way, you do not go to hell for being gay, be careful what you read on here some people like to pretend they know what the bible says....

I personally have not been through that but I can offer you words of comfort. Dont ever give up no matter what anyone else tells you. Stay strong and steadfast in what you believe in. Pray so that the Lord can reveal to you what His plan for you is and how you can achieve it. Believe in what you have turned to and believe that change can happen. Most importantly always remember that God always forgives!

You are really courageous.

My advice would be to find a really good spiritual director who will approach you with the love of Christ... someone who will be completely humble, loving, and non-judgemental.

Try not to get discouraged.

God doesn't make people gay. But, people blame God for everything because there's not logical explanation or other person to blame.
What you chose, if your choice. If you think you can't chose your 'lifestyle', that would be the same as any other person sinning and them saying I had no choice.
Go to church and pray and ask for forgiveness and you will be ok!
