By rule, if there is one car left in the race still running, and laps to go, the car can continue, though im sure if it would be obvious that the one car left will be the winner regardless of what happens, im sure NASCAR would call the race early if the race is past the halfway point.

If I remember correctly, I was watching a different racing series a few years back, where every car wrecked on the start, and what they did was postpone the race so teams could fix their cars, and just moved the race to the next day, but that was on a start of a race, not deep into a race.

They would keep running! If one car was left someone may make repairs and get back on the track, then the one car that was left may have mechanical troubles and still lose. However this has never happend and would be highly unlikely and nearly impossible, but to answer the question the race would go on untill the last lap was completed

until finally I observed EdP's answer I had in ideas the Plymouth Superbird or the stay sparkling of Charger the two with the wings... Heck with it, IT nevertheless IS one in each and every of THEM 2 automobiles! I enjoyed it while Richard Petty finally permit the cat out of the bag with 'He did no longer care the place NASCAR mandated the wing attitude, it replaced into the two verticals that gave them the laterial stability that he needed the main' those 2 verticals helped the rear stick like glue, the horizontal wing in spite of the incontrovertible fact that useful replaced into on there to function stability for the uprights at extreme speeds. WTG Richard, and others who have been the winged warriors. Did everyone bear in mind the Hollman-Moody Tarrino Tallidaga of the comparable era with the prolonged slump frontend? {Sorry for the misspelling}

As long as there are at least two cars racing, the race will continue. If there is only one car left, the race will end and that car will be declared the winner.

They never cancel a race unless it's raining !! Yes the race will go on until the last car crosses the finish line on a checkered flag !! That means even if there is only one car left he has to finish the race !!

Good question.
I guess in theory if 1 car is left then the race would be called.
But with NASCAR they would change the rules if it is not one of their "special" teams.

That is a really good question. NASCAR always wants to get the expected length of the race.

As long as they can make money airing commercials, they'd keep the race going if the only car running was the pace car.

As long as there are at least 2 cars still in contention they will continue to the advertised distance.
