Because this is where all the Atheist bashing goes on. I could ask you, why are so many great Christians concerned about what Atheists believe, here on R and S ?
I feel sure that if there was no Atheist bashing for a couple of months, Atheists would loose interest in this section.

Why can't atheists share their views on R&S? Everybody is entitled to an opinion, and also entitled to ask and answer questions using their own opinions (after all, that's what the religious do). It's all about interpretation.

By the way, I am a buddhist and I also consider myself to be an atheist. I believe in religion and I believe in spirituality.

I think this question has been asked every day:

Those who speak of spirituality as opposed to religion generally meta-religiously believe in the existence of many "spiritual paths" and deny any objective truth about the best path to follow. Rather, adherents of this definition of the term emphasize the importance of finding one's own path, rather than following what others say works. In summary: the path which makes the most coherent sense becomes the correct one (for oneself).

People of a more New-Age disposition tend to regard spirituality not as religion per se, but as the active and vital connection to a force/power/energy, spirit, or sense of the deep self. As cultural historian and yogi William Irwin Thompson (1938 - ) put it, "Religion is not identical with spirituality; rather religion is the form spirituality takes in civilization."

They're here to tell us exactly that, have a few drinks and joke around about 'backwards' people with 'imaginary friends'. By the way, Atheism is recognized by the US military as a belief system. Chaplains would have to learn their rituals, if they had any. Most the atheists on here are good folks. They have a drinking game based on certain questions commonly asked here.

According to the Bible (Romans 1), an atheist knows deep down in his/her heart that there is a God and “suppress the truth in unrighteousness.” Though an atheist is blinded by Satan’s lies, they are created in image of God and they have the longing and desire to search and know God. That's one reason why atheists hang out in the Religion and Spirituality section and discuss God.

What gives you the idea atheists does not believe in either one? It is so hard to visualise there are more then one religion in the world? Is it so hard to have an idea that not all religion believes in omnipotent fantasy stories?

I am not an atheist but I think it keeps a balance. Most atheist say that they were once church goers, so they are not ignorant of the scriptures.

Spirituality first evolved as complete understanding and control of self, such as in Buddhism and Hinduism. You're telling me that Buddhists are not spiritual?

we are born spiritual, emotional, mental and physical.... we just prefer to keep our whole in tact

why do you think religion should have a monopoly on spirituality? there was spirituality before religion and it will make much more sense after religion is gone from the earth.
