I'm a U.S citizen and my boyfriend is here legally from Jamaica by way of a green card. He came here with his mother a few years ago to go to further his education. We plan on getting married once we finish college, we also have a baby on the way and i wonder if there will be anything that will keep us from just tying knot. Could we just go down to city hall and get a marriage certificate or are there forms we have to file before hand because he is a green card holder?

You have to request a license to get married and depending on the state you might have to do a blood test. HOWEVER, he is here legally and therefore the only things needed is ID, and SS# card better yet he can just use his green card since it has all of that information on one thing. You will also payment for the license. Congrats, wish you all the best of luck
( P.S. If he gets on your nerves, tell him about his rass) Just kidding.
Congrats again from a yardie.

No. And the green card holder could lose it for knowingly harboring an illegal alien and owe thousands in fines

the only thing you need, is loving him so much for get married..then, pay the marriage certificate...as i read..you had a baby on the way, is much easier for you..you don't need a witness...if he had more than 4 years and 9 moths been green card holders..he should apply for a u.s. citizenship because they going to raise the fare (350 dlls NOW) you can fill the form in your house and send it..don't pay a lawyer you don't need...

Just be sure he takes his green card with him when you apply for the licenses. He's here legally so there should not be any extra paperwork.
