I simply cannot believe mankind isn't working together at this point in time and realizing how similiar the big three religions are. Islam, Christianity and Judaism essentially worship the same God. So why the major conflicts?

I can see we have a long way to go. Some of you people are making excuses for why your deity is supreme. Yahweh, God and Alleh fall under the same umbrella which is Monotheism. Don't insult me with your lack of tolerance and understanding I can see through it.

These differences I guess can never be worked out, how sad. Man with all this brain power and we can't solve this problem.

It always sound genuine when someone like Kimmie speaks, And I can feel a connection with something greater but you can't be with me every second and my mind begins to reason out the things which I detect to be unauthentic. I will continue to search and try to be open.

The biggest difference is the belief in Jesus and who he was. Christianity is the only one that believes in a son being sent to cover over our sins so that we may have a chance to go to heaven. I have not sudied a great deal into these other religions so I am not entirely sure what the details are. Jesus is necessary for us to have the opportunity to have eternal life because we as fleshly desiring humans have and will always screw it up. We cannot be perfect and need Jesus to be the bridge for us to cross in order to inherit the kingdom. We are called co-heirs in the bible, co-heirs with Jesus. Jesus came to fulfill the old testament law and live as an example and to show us how to love, not the rich , famous and "deserving", but everyone, especially the poor, despised and unlovable! This is so awesome, a debate without any bashing or hate on your part!! Thanks!
P.S. Stay away from catholism. I have much experience with this and it will leave you terribly empty inside as the rituals, traditions and ceremonies do not leave any room for compassion and love. I do think that some believe in Jesus and therefore will be in heaven, but for the most part I think they have a devout faith in their ceremonies, rituals and traditions and not the true saving power of Jesus!

Because even though they believe in the same (1) God, there's the conflict between how a person reaches God. Christianity believes a person can only be with God if they believe that Jesus paid for their sins on the cross. Islam believes that a person can only be with God if they follow the teachings (Pillars of Islam, Kor'an) of Muhammad. Finally, in Judaism, they don't believe that the Messiah has come, and the only way to be with God is by following the Ten Commandments. So you can see why there are such major conflicts.

I am a Muslim, and am comfortable saying based on the immese similarity they we pray all the same God. Just the particular conception/method have minor differences. But as you can tell, no Christian or Jew seems to want to extend that to me. The Quran itself commends all "People of the Book" which is inclusive of Jews, Christians, and other that worship God. Linguistically, Allah means God. In the beginning of Islam, wise Jews and prominent Christians were great friends with Muhammad and were happy that a messanger (which some had predicted) had come to confirm what they believed. Allah in Islam is the same God that sent all the Prophets from Noah to Moses to Jesus. Many of the stories are the same. The main differences concern specific topics of original sin (Islam has no such concept), and the divinity of Christ (Islam says he was a humble messanger and man). Then Islam had the audacity to challenge the narrow Trinity-version of God/Jesus and there were some political conflicts with Jewish tribes..
I can't really even think of any real theological difference with the Jews aside from any notion that a specific race is chosen or destined for heaven (which most Jews don't believe anyways). Muslims and Jews coexisted peacefully for a long time in various contexts before WWII. There is tons of common ground, even in specific dietary rules in the meat we eat!
Given that Islam is growing fast in America and is kind of the 'upstart' or 'new kid on the block' or whatever and still unfamiliar/strange, I think many people (esp Christians) don't want to acknowledge any similarity or shared tradition.

I don't believe the Muslims worship the same God. I believe the Jews (and JW/LDS) only worship one third of God. two entities can have the same name. it's possible.
why so many conflicts? look at what they say about eachother traditionally: Muslims think Jews and Christians have the corrupted word of God. Jews have generational conflicts with Arabs (which they see muslims as in some cases). Christians believe that God has one Truth and all others are wrong. everyone has a reason to be upset.

One simple Reason. Power. God has a simple message. Love. Love him, Love yourself, Love your family, and love your neighbor. Beware those things that lead you away from this message. Man, has polluted that message into.
We call god this. People that don't call god this, people that worship with a different book, different temple and different language than us are leading you away from God's message.
Until as a species we can realize the strenght of unity, we will forever be undermined by men who need power.
Religon is wonderfull way to aquire power. People already believe, all you have to do is change their interpretation to something that slightly favors your designs, change another interpretation and then another. Wallah, you have lead them into a whole new branch or faith.
God IS. anything more than those 2 words is wrong. God is merciful, but he is also unyielding, God is compassionate but he can be unforgiving. (aka Hell, no one is released from Hell, hence he is unforgiving once a sentence is passed) God is all things and all things are a part of God.
However this message doesn't serve some people's politcal and personal power base. Therefore divisions are strengthened, fortified, ramped up and released.
God's message is simple, Love. Man's interpertation and response isn't.
Just one seeker looking for a truth.

You have quoted the three most 'militant' religions on this planet.
There are others, like Buddhism, Hinduism, and countless variations of human gratitude to a higher power in the spiritual practices of native people - all of which DO NOT engage in the following: evangelism/proselotizing and trying to persuade one and all to adhere to their dogma.
The conflict is that of economics and control. The same GOD is not the problem, but it is rather convenient to foster separate beliefs and use those to incite the sheep to military action.
This tactic of using "GOD" as an excuse for military action has been in place for thousands of years. Look at your "Old Testament", the "Koran", or the "Torah", which has parts in common with the christian Old Testament.
How many incidents are cited there which justify genocide because "GOD" ordered, suggested or condoned it?
There is a main discrepancy in all these religions:
GOD is represented as
a) an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present entity
b) a jealous despot who needs humans to be worshipped by and to do battle on other human enemies.
Something smells fishy here, don't you think?
Isn't it time to realize that the All-That-Is, the energy of which all is created and which imbues all, the energy to which gratitude is due, is NOT the named label of the figurehead of any religion?
Some of all religions know, feel, support and promote this.
Others promote separationism. We're still in diapers and will hopefully grow up soon.

Allah is a different god. No matter how many times you hear otherwise, Allah is not YHWH.
If you tell a lie often enough, and for a long enough period, people will believe it. Don't fall for the lie. THAT Is the reason for the conflict.
The Bible and the Qur'an are two very different books. Therefore they cannot have been the words of the same god.
Do these sound like the words of Jesus?
Tabari IX:113 "Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur'an."
Tabari I:280 "Allah said, ‘It is My obligation to make Eve bleed once every month as she made this tree bleed. I must also make Eve stupid, although I created her intelligent.' Because Allah afflicted Eve, all of the women of this world menstruate and are stupid."

The big 3 religions are not worshipping the same god.
First:
Allah is not the true god's name.
Allah means "The God". That's not a name. "God" is a title.
Yahweh, now there's a name!
That might be a start to knowing why there is a bit of conflict.

Let's assume there is one true Creator-God, who is good and let's further assume there is an evil archenemy of God -- Satan.
Wouldn't it make sense that the enemy would like to draw people away from God with COUNTERFEIT religions, that look very similiar but are not the same?
So, the spiritual battle is right here, between the One True God, and Satan's counterfeits. It is not a matter of people working together, true faith is a matter of following the truth and rejecting the counterfeit.

They have many things in common (see link to charts below). But they are mutually exclusive, for one major reason - Jesus.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The Jews received the prophecy of Jesus' coming, but when He came, they didn't believe He was the one. So they're still waiting for Him to come.
Islam believes Jesus is a prophet.
Christians believe Jesus is the son of God, sent to atone for our sins and that He is the only way to salvation.
If you look at the facts on Jesus (Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ is a very good examination), everything holds up. Jesus is exactly who He said He is. And so if He says He's the only way to God - then that's it. Period, end of story. The link below has very good excerpts and summarizations.
