Jesus loves us more than we could ever love anyone, right? My love for my spouse is nothing compared to the love Jesus has for me. That's a basic tenet of Christianity.

So here's my question: If so MANY fallable, evil humans are willing to give up heaven for hell in order to comfort their loved one in hell so that they might not suffer through that torture alone (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070527175732AAoPVPH&pa=FYd1D2bwHTHwLLplFekzRP1o0utmGMLCnLLh_Vu38CEWOhaO4XKg49p1.18WYawIWD9RoHkNk2a7kg--&paid=asked&msgr_status= ), will Jesus spend eternity in hell, too, in order that HIS loved ones do not suffer that torture alone?

If not, does that mean that Jesus' love for us is less perfect that our love for our spouses?

[And don't say that Jesus "can't" go to hell or be in the presence of sin - (1) he is omnipotent and can do whatever he wants and (2) he's already been in the presence of sin merely by coming to earth.]

Heh. Shaka, I can't answer my own question, but I'll bite: I don't think it's a fair question.

Specifically, I don't think it's a fair question because if Jesus loved us as much as he is supposed to, there wouldn't BE a hell.

Parents don't torture and kill their children for making mistakes. They don't even do it for being deliberately bad. That's what love IS: caring for someone so much that you NEVER wish suffering on them, no matter how much they might deserve it.

I guess he won't go.

After he died, he spent 3 whole days in hell. And, omnipotent as he is, he decided not to close the place, fire Satan and destroy the entire lake of fire.

That makes Jesus possibly the biggest sinner of all times.

I would even choose hell, if a vague acquantance of mine was send there. I refuse to go to heaven if God sends anybody to hell, no matter who it is.

Christ did "go to hell" during the period between his death and resurrection.... and there he taught the "spirits in prison":

1 Peter 3:19
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison (read this verse in context here: http://scriptures.lds.org/en/1_pet/3/19#19 )

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints claims to be the original teachings of Christ, restored by heavenly ministration and the spirit of prophecy to us in this time.

The teachings of this church shed a lot of light on the question that you have asked and the sentiments you have expressed but I can't explain it all here... it would take far too long. Email me if you would like further information regarding your question, or visit the website below for some BASIC explanations.

In short, you are right. Jesus will visit those who don't "make it to heaven".

Added: You're right about "hell". It's not what mainstream Christianity think it is. Jesus and Heavenly Father, who love us, would not be merciful and just if "heaven" and "hell" were as clear-cut as most people think.

with regard to Jesus being comparable to Adam, from a Christian attitude, it fairly is incorrect. before everything Jesus is what the King James Bible calls "Begotten" meaning he existed formerly he grow to be born, he existed earlier to creation, and that's actually one among the substantial motives he's taken under consideration God. i don't understand if the Muslims have faith Jesus is Begotten. Secondly there are numerous substantial components concerning his delivery, his paternal (i think of it fairly is the word) father grow to be of the line of King David, and so grow to be his mom. He did not have a organic and organic father. The Muslims have faith this. Thirdly, Jesus grow to be with out sin, which grow to be why died on the pass (i think the Q'ran says he did not die on the pass, yet he did, a scientific attempt grow to be performed which shown it), if he had sinned then he would not have been able to save us, yet because of the fact he hadn't sinned he grow as a thank you to take the punishment God demands for our sins. Fourthly Jesus rose back on Easter Sunday. Fifthly Jesus has all authority in Heaven and Earth. And huge variety six is he will return, and whilst he does, anticipate a great variety of action! Adam wasn't born he grow to be created, yet he did not exist earlier to creation the two. He sinned, which grow to be why he have been given kicked out of the backyard of Eden. whilst he died he did not come again to life, purely comparable to all and sundry else who has died (different than Jesus). He would not have any authority in Heaven or on earth. And he won't return to decide the worldwide.

1. how do we know Jesus loves us? or was it the 2000 years of social brain washing that told us so?

2. i don't think Jesus loves humanity,i wouldn't love a bunch of boob that murdered me.

3. i just heard yesterday? that Jesus went to hell for 3 days, rescued ADAM and EVE.?

if ADAM and EVE can GET OUT OF HELL why cant we get out of hell?

that means hell is not permanent !! according to christian doctrine.

so if Jesus went to hell for a 3 day vacation why wouldn't he be able to go to hell now?

Jesus ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of The Father. I do not think that Jesus will be in hell because he gave us a choice to go to heaven or hell. Since He gave us a choice, if we take make the wrong one, there will be no one there to comfort us. It is our eternal consequence.

First of all I don't know what religion you belong to, but I can tell you this Jesus is not omnipotent and he cannot do whatever he wants to, never has and never will, he simply has a spirit just like you and I do, Jesus was a vary intelligent man and the teachings and messages he gave us was for the living not the dead, secondly hell is man made it is only in the minds of men, because there really is no such a place, I can tell you that if you focus on hell you surly will be one of it's tenants, because it is you that creates a hell not God, I am catholic and have been for many many years, and what you have been taught is not all true, because your life reality is what you chose before you came to this physical world, so start using your mind and spiritual memory and you will see I tell the truth. may the spirits guide you on your journey, and may God bless.

Jesus will not be in hell, it was made for the devil and his angels. Yes Jesus loves us because he is love. Our love as humans and for other humans does not even touch His love. Jesus loves us all, but his loved ones will not be in hell. We go by our own free will, he does not put us there, if we choose to serve the devil, and not take Jesus as our Savior, then the devil is who we serve, our father so to speak. There is no dissecting his love as perfect or not, he is love. You can't compare the two using our human emotions for spouses or kids etc.... Yeh, Jesus can go anywhere and already did, and holds the keys to heaven and hell and to death so ending this, He was in this world but overcame it and was around sin but sinned not. I will pray for you.

Okay...please be open minded about my answer please.
Jesus is supposed to be our #1 in our life. so Jesus comes first, and then your spouse. But if you are willing to give Jesus up to come and suffer with your spouse, then that is not putting Jesus first. Because you should want to be with Jesus more than you should want to be with your spouse, and if you would go to hell for eternity for your spouse...then that is not putting Jesus first. Now....Jesus will not come and suffer with us, because He had given us many chances....and now we have a punishment. also look at this..the people in hell, they will finally know that there is a god, and that God was real, and that Jesus really did die, but instead of asking God for forgiveness...they will be angry, not sorry. they will NEVER be sorry, they will be angry..and they will curse God in His face if God ever walks down there...now, do you really think God is gonna go and suffer for THOSE people, and then when He does suffer, they curse Him? no...i dont think so. God deserves to be glorified...not cursed. and God deserves all the glory, which He WILL get.

overall...this sounds kinda mean...but i am not willing to give up heaven for anyone. it makes me sad when i think about it...because its like, i dont my family or anyone who i love in hell. but i must put God first....and if i would rather suffer with my spouse or someone else, than be with God....then that means i have a greater love for them. you may think that u dont....but you do. you put God second...and whoever you love first. thats not right. also, they deserve this punishment...if your spouse were to go to hell, and you went down with him just to suffer with him, your spouse is NOT going to look at you and say, " oh your so beautiful, you didnt have to do this. but i am grateful you did. " no....that person will not be in God's presence anymore...the Holy Spirit will not be living in that person...the only thing that person will be is there own flesh and blood and satan and his demons there is no goodness in hell...not even in the heart. your spouse will hate you like satan...your spouse will suffer...and will leave you in a second if he could if he were in hell with you.

this is my opinion and based on what i know.

if u read all of this, thanks!

Hell is for people who have chosen to live apart from God. Hell is merely the absense of God. Jesus is God, so by definition, He won't be in Hell.

He loves us enough to let us decide if we are going to love Him or not. If you choose to not accept His love, He will let you make that choice. He will weep for your loss, but in His perfect love, He will let you make that choice.

Jesus has already descended into Hell and took the keys of death back into His control.

Basically what you're asking, has already happened. But, being God, He did not stay for eternity. The full price for "Our Sin" has been paid. Now we have to accept or reject it.
