In my opinion, fundamentalism is fundamentalism, there's no difference. An extremist whack-job is an extremist whack-job, reglardless of what label they put in front of their fundamentalism.

If you could rephrase your question, I might could answer it. The way I see it, "Christian" and "Hindu" and whatever else are not different forms of Fundamentalism, but fundamentalism can be a characteristic of different sects within a religion.

Yes, though it might be more accurate to call them "Fanatics". Every belief has those who go to far or who feel their belief (or non-belief) is the only way and so must convince all of their particular version of the TRUTH. The problem is, the fanatics in any group are the groups to bear as they must continually refute the message the fanatic is spreading...which essentially is defined as...you guessed...fanatic.

Religious extremism is a "legitimate" form of religion. I still can't say I like it though.

well you can't really be a fundamentalist of no religion because being a fundamentalist is sticking to the original basis of beliefs normally religious..... I don't think being a fundamentalist is good though because people were barbaric back then and it can harms others and what is acceptable today, in the 21st century...
