Christianity is a political control system not a religion. That's the way the Romans set it up and that's the way its been used down through the ages.

It may be so that to some, Jesus does not fit the description of the Jewish Messiah, but he does fit the description of the Messiah given by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Messiah is not a Jewish concept - it is a divine concept. It is God who determined the need for a Messiah and it is God who gave the means by which to identify the Messiah.
There is no reason to suggest that God tried to fool his chosen people and not send the Messiah as he promised.
And it is certainly true that the Messiah is NOT a deity. Jesus of Nazareth was a human being while on earth - not God.
Christians accept Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah because he fits the description found in God's word the Bible. Even many Jews in the first century accepted him as such. Is it fair to say that because those first century Jewish Christians accepted him as such, they were mistaken as well?

Jesus fits exactly the description of the Jewish Messiah. The confusion, I think, comes from the Jews looking for a worldly king to set up his kingdom when he came. Jesus did bring a kingdom with Him, a spiritual kingdom, but His actual physical reign on earth will be after Armageddon, when He destroys all the nations who come against Him. While here on earth as a man, He began His ministry and those who believed Him and followed Him became part of the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus is Deity, but while here on earth He lay down His powers and became fully human. God didn't fool anyone, they just didn't see Jesus as Messiah because He didn't come in splendor and glory and like a king of this world, but came as a lowly carpenter, meek and mild in spirit, and modest beginnings on earth. He wasn't what they wanted and so they rejected Him, unknowingly rejecting God's own Son, the Savior of the world, and King of Kings.

God did not send a Messiah for earthly procession. He sent a Messiah to save his people from their sins. To restore them back to a relationship he had before sin came into the world.
Because the Jews were oppressed they looked for a savior, but the savior that was to come was not for power, but for obedience to God. He gave them many clues that they ignored to their own peril. Even today he says" whosoever will let him come"

The same reason some people call Michael Jackson the King of Pop, he called himself the King and the public followed. Same with Howard Stern the 'King of All Media'. W. Bush kinda does something similar.

Jesus does fit the description and the prophecies concerning the Jewish Messiah. What many of the Jewish people of Jesus' day failed to discern was that the prophecies spoke to different times of fulfillment. They were looking ahead to the final deliverance from their enemies here on earth and not for the sacrifice to deliver them from the eternal penalty of their sins as described in passages like Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22. Jesus fulfilled the first part of the prophecies and He will return to fulfill the second part too. Notice how Jesus himself split a prophecy regarding his person in the middle.
Luke 4:17-21 And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him (Jesus). He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
20 And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 And he began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; 3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion-- to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.
