now i dont understand how gordon who won like 1 race is first but johnson won like 4 and hes in second

You get points for winning and you get points for leading at least one lap, and you get points forleading the most laps.

185 for first place, but you actually get 190 because you were obviously the leader of a lap.

You get pts for each finishing position.Back in 94 Rusty Wallce won about 10 races but Dale Sr won the title.Consistency is the best bet.

chris dont be so mean...points are confusing on a good day and depending on how the gods smile on your driver, where he places, how many he passes, where he finishes, is this consistent or sporadic...the more you watch the better it gets..no worries
