To remove the evil and the Nephilites from the earth.

Genesis 6
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%206%20;&version=51;
5 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.
6 So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.

We must be really breaking his heart now days!

Hello, in John 1 we understand Jesus was the active agent in on creation, in Hebrews 13:8 we understand He was always here, now Jesus when mankind was created agreed to in Gen. 315 Jesus predicted the end of sin, now in John 3:16 we understand God is Love, and our part is John 14:15 "IF" you love me [then] Keep my commandments [not suggestions] but God is The God of Justice too, when mankind was warned in Gen. 6 for 120 YEARS to repent and turn there lives around as Noah was warning but it was refused, and like today God is again warning, In Rev.14:6-10 and this is the last message to be given to mankind, again God is love but at some point His Justice if the conditions that His love and forgiveness is offered is refused then what else is He to do? No God is Love but He will not force, find out more free bible lessons www.amazingfacts.org talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

Not sure, although there is a reason given in the Bible, but then the Biblical flood is based on the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh, which was in turn based on an even earlier Akkadian legend.
Maybe the real reasons might be found in amongst the original story.

To "rid" the Earth of "evil" people who inhabited it.

Keep in mind now kids, he asked a known drunk to convince people that a giant flood was coming. Good job, God.

God flooded the earth because he was tired of the way that
man was living his life. At the rate that we are going now
he will just destroy what is left of this miserable planet.

No such thing as God - try some other knowledge then just blind faith. Blind faith works when ignorance is bliss. Learn and learn to comprehend though research. Mass flooding was not global - there are ice ages and there are warm spells. When the sun turns into a red giant will you think man's pollution did it in? will it be the God of the sun? Isn't there other stars in the universe don't they turn into red stars or explode. Do you really think by naming out star "The Sun" we are protected?

Due to rampant sexual intercourse with whatever moved, including the Nephelim, the DNA strand was horribly corrupted. Only one unaltered strand remained with Noah and his family. The strain had to be stopped in its tracks or all of mankind would be infected.
