My mother is also looking for this documentary and she told me that it aired on Oprah's show. I also remember that it aired on ABC a number of years ago. It was like about 10 years ago or so.
That was an amazing documentary although it was sad.

My mother died of aspiration pneumonia as a result of Alzheimers disease. Mom was 65 and I was 28 yrs old.
It was a very sad time in our lives. My mother left behind 7 children. She died on Memorial day weekend.
I believe a documentary exploits the Alzheimers victim. It helps no one. Its a damned freak show. I wonder what her mother would think of it.
