I'm sure they didn't care. And also, if the Jews we're going to rebel against it, the torah actually permits violations to occur if ones life is at steak, Piku'ach Nephesh- so technically during the Holocaust, Jews were exempt from pretty much all rules, and besides, they didn't have a chance to practice much religion as it is.
It's the exact same question if you were to ask how the Nazis made Jews work on saturdays, why the didn't let them pray, etc.

The Nazis probably did know that tattooing was against Jewish law, but obviously they did not care and probably this was yet another example of their spite towards the Jewish people. In the Warsaw ghetto when the people were starving they would deliberately distribute pork and other non-kosher foods (treiff) to heap insult onto injury to a humilated and starving people....
The Nazis studied Jewish law very carefully, Adolf Eichmann was an expert in Jewish theology and lore- they twisted this to help their propaganda machine!!! So, I think the answer is probably yes.....

Some camps did not tattoo the jews.. they did in Auschwitz.
It was meant to degrade them and dehumanize them. They had no caring whatsoever for Jewish law.
I've known many holocaust survivors throughout my life. The tattooing was the least of their problems, believe me.

I don't know if they cared what was right for them. The only thing they cared about was control and manipulating innocent people. The Jews were there because of their religion so tattooing them was one of the those things they apparently over looked.

Despite the fact that you sound like a lonely hateful child, you may do what you want in the privacy in your home and may produce a video including this symbol. You may even rally wearing it on your arm as your speech is protected by the first amendment as it should be. However, you do sound like a lonely hateful child. Good luck in this world.

Do you think they knew killing was against Jewish law? Or did they only figure that out after 6 million were killed?

No offense, but that question is on the same level as "why do they clean off the arm of a prisoner being executed by lethal injection with alcohol before they introduce the deadly needle?"

I doubt they cared even if they knew. I think it would have been the least of the Jews worries.

If they did, they would not have cared.
One thing they did do was after the bodies were cremated, they made pathways of the ashes to walk on!!!

its possible considering that many Nazis were devout Christians that they knew that the Bible prohibits tattoos, but as you said I doubt that they cared.
