I think other forms of life are possible but they are too far from us and we will never see them. I don't believe there are aliens that come to earth and suck us up into there space ships erase our memories and take us to their universe. Nor do I belive that there are little green big headed martian men that have little ray guns that are going to ..... ummmm sorry lost track of where I was must of gotten zapped.

Interestingly put - I had no idea Aliens was a belief system.

According to Plato,[1] knowledge is justified true belief. False beliefs are not knowledge, even if the individual believes them to be true; a sincere believer in the flat earth theory does not know that the Earth is flat. Unknown facts are not knowledge, because they are not known by any individual; it is the belief element in justified-true-belief that makes the link between a state of affairs and an individual. Unjustified true beliefs are lucky guesses, and therefore not knowledge.

So as a question goes - you are asking people to hands up on if they accept and hold to false knowledge.

The second part of your question - do they exist or not- what do you think is better put. It allows for reasoning.

Personally I do not 'think' they exist nor do I 'think' that they don't - I do however reason that given the extent of the universe chaos has had more than one chance to create a world where life can exist and on the basis of probabilities it is almost certain that somewhere out there life exists on other planets - in other galaxies. I have no idea if they come a trotting round to earth on away trips in space-ships to beam unsuspecting loners up for a quick medical.

I'll just say this is something I think of often, as I'm sure others do.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if aliens came from other planets and showed us how to travel at the speed of light, how to live in 0 gravity without our limbs and bones being affected. I would love it if we could pass knowledge instantaneously, brain to brain. There are all kinds of possibilities.
The negative aspect I don't like to dwell on is: what if an alien race comes that is far superior to us? We could all be zapped into nothingness.

Well..

Its been estimated that there are several hundred billion stars in our own galaxy and at least a hundred or so billion galaxies in the universe with a comparable number of stars. This translates into at least 100 times more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on the earth, or about 10 billion trillion stars (on the conservative side)

Assuming that planets orbiting stars are very rare and life being on planets is so rare that it only occurs in one star out of a trillion .. that would still be at least 10 billion planets in the universe that have life.

I realize this is all just playing games with numbers and there is no way to know for sure .. but it does make you think.

I would think so! I mean, why would God make all this universe and not put other lifeforms on it? Not like walking-talking-green-antennae-like aliens, but other lifeforms maybe even like us. We have no PROOF, but there is so much space out there that we have no idea.

We do have large evidence that there was probably water, whether water, liquid carbon dioxide, but indents on Mars show that there were probably rivers, that could support life, IF there was an atmosphere on Mars a while ago.

Do you think we are the only planet in the entire galaxy (which is so large we can't even begin to comprehend it's size) that has life on it. the fact that human beings has only set foot on the moon. Are we as a species that naive to believe we are all alone. I sure hope not, chances are there are plenty of other planets that sustain life. that sounds weird to most but just look at the odds it makes sense.

One will never know until one sees them face to face on a wide scale basis. Meaning more than one person at one time. It would take a mass amount of people to experience such an event to make it more believable. Right now it seems far fetched as for it only seems to happen to a few amount of people in obscure places. Of course anything is possible, and you can't discount something that you have yet to see yourself.

I keep an open mind about such things. We can neither prove nor disprove the existence of aliens and I'm one of those people who likes to see the evidence first hand before making such decisions.

I don't think they're among us as some people beleive but I do think there is a very real possibility that life of some sort exists elsewhere in the universe aside from our own planet.

It would be fascinating to make contact with some other form of life and who knows, maybe one day it will happen.

Whether you believe in creation or in evolution, you should believe there is life on other planets.

Creation: To not put life on other planets would be a huge waste of space.

Evolution: With millions of other stars in our Galaxy, and millions of other galaxies.. it would be hard to believe that only on this one ball of mud the conditions were right to produce life.

What is questionable is the ability to contact the inhabitants of other planets.

SETI is based on trying to detect radio waves made by other beings. But, each star is a producer of radio waves. Trying to locate the radio signals of other beings is akin to looking for a firefly that is 40 miles away in heavy fog and you being surrounded by search lights. Good luck.

You never know what is out there. Especially with all the extra security at Roswell in New Mexico, one has to wonder why they won't let ordinary citizens into that area....they will be shot on sight if they are attempted to cross. Just something to think about.
