Is this happening to you? Always check with your doctor(s) and pharmacist for interactions. Some antibiotics can cause mood disruption. I know there are some that my internist will not prescribe for me, not because of a drug interaction, but because I am vulnerable to the mood side effects of any medication. This is also true for anti-histamines, and some arthritis medications. Good Luck.

I've taken antibiotics twice while on 30mg of Lexapro and nothing happened. I had infected wisdom teeth. I noticed no mood swings, etc., but I was a bit tired from the infection itself.

the situation for which you are taking the antibiotic could affect mood. such as a UTI. urinary tract infections cause changes in behaviors and moods. taking an anti-depressant/anti anxiety should not have any effect on the antibiotic.
