If it is an interview with the actual employer, they are going to test you on things that are relevant to the position for which you have applied. So, for a customer service position, they would probably ask for answers to questions either about the products or services the company provides or how you might handle specific types of situations that might arise during working hours. They also might ask types of questions that would point to the type of personality that you have that can be key when working in sales and services customer service. An employment agency would be a little less specific in its testing, so might not test to the particular product or service, but would probably use the other types of testing mentioned. They are going to test to the types of skills required by the position.
Hope this helps.

If you are interested in a customer service position, they test your interpersonal skills. What would you do if you had a customer like........... Or if you weren't knowledgeable in a certain product, what would you do to solve the customers problem........type of questions.
I have gone through and passed customer service tests for a few companies, but i guess my lack of experience in a call center wasn't enough(I did work in retail for a year and a half and I have 30 college credits, but it still wasn't good enough)Also me being a MAN might not have helped either. You either gotta be a woman, or a VERY FEMININE man, someone with a soft voice. I have an ok deep voice for a man, but it doesn't sound like a Barry White just waking up......lol
They also might test your ability to type accurate account information while speaking to a customer on the phone.

Depending on the position, they might test you on spelling, grammar, basic math, speech. They could do role playing too, for example, have you do a scenario where you deal with a 'customer.'
