I've recently been seeing a bizarre sentiment being tossed around here. An example is this: "A dinosaur footprint and a human footprint (fossils) were found in the same layer of sediment in a river bed. Cool huh?"
Yup. That would be cool, all right!
Problem is, not ONE of them cites a reference.
One of these morons apparently made up the claim and the other fundies figure "Wow! That's neat! I'm gonna tell everybody about this one!" and it spread like wildfire.
And then you fundies get all riled when I call you a bunch of morons when such irrefutable evidence of stupidity and gullibility among you exists!
Go ahead, morons: Gimme a citation that gives any credence whatsoever to this "extraordinary claim".

The book of Job has been mentioned here twice. I can't find anything in there about co-fossilization of dinosaur and human footprints.

I found some pictures of these "human" and "dinosaur" footprints along with a few quotes from a "doctor". I haven't seen any real analysis of the footprints. The doctor's degree is dubious as he lists his education by years studied and not by degree. His PhD is in education not geology and he claims it is from Pacific School of Graduate Studies, Melbourne, Australia. This school is apparently so well regarded that it can't even be Googled. I also find it odd that his email is an AOL address. You'd think he'd have one with whatever group is paying him for his research.

Actually, there really is a set of footprints that appears to have man-made and dinosaur-made footprints. Since they're both in stone together, then (conclusion): Men must have lived with dinosaurs. Never mind that the 10 million other bits of evidence are to the contrary. This one fossil proves all.
Problem is, those aren't human footprints. Scientists have proven that the second set of footprints are from another type of dinosaur, very common, that must have gone running around the same area within a few hours of the first.
That makes the score:
- Number of fossils proving evolution and separation of dinos and man by 65 million years?: 10 million and one.
- Number of fossils proving man lived with dinosaurs?: Zero
Still, fundies refuse to believe. One group of morons even opened a $25M museum attraction showing dinos and humans playing together in (get ready to gasp!) Kentucky. They can always fall back on the old "God created all these falsehoods to distract, test and separate the unworthy from the *true* believers."
Stupidity dies very hard.
(Actually, since scientists now believe all birds EVOLVED from a specific lineage of dinosaur, it really is correct to say Mankind lives with Dinos, just the avian flying kind. How fortuitous is that?).

I dont have an answer because I completely agree with you, but I wanted to give you a high five. I grew up christian and we were STRONGLY discouraged from doing any of our own research on the BS we were fed. Thats because even a 30 second Google search will blow most of that crap out of the water.

As a Christian, you mean that the Flintstones were not real? Wow, I guess those sentiments belong with the ones that claim science has proved there is no God. No citations ever given, but I guess you can not blame the Christians for that one.

Hilarious. I'm sure you've heard about that "Creationist Museum" in Kentucky. They said dinosaurs were on Noah's Ark. I laughed so hard I almost cried.
