Assuming you use Ethernet protocol in a network, the main problem is that there no Quality of service protocol. So, if someone else starts a download, that may interfere with your streaming.

it is a digital tranfer, so their should not be any problems due to the cable that you use. the problems would be due to the computer transfering and receiving the file.
