Well its not for me its for my girlfriend. She is graduating from University of San Diego (USD) as i call it the University of Spoiled Daughters. Anyway her mother is willing to get her a $30,000 car so my girl narrowed it down to the Acura and the BMW. Which one should she get and why?

First of all, I'm pretty sure the Acura TL is made in Ohio.
Of course, they are both incredible cars. They are very good choices.
I had 4 acuras in the last 6 years and I loved them. My last one was a 2003 Acura 3.2Cl type-s. It had about the same engine and let me tell you it's reliable, fast, just a great engine.
Never had any problems with the car. A pleasure to own all the way.
Some people will prefer the BMW because of performance reasons. The BMW is rear-wheel drive and Acura front-wheel drive. But it might just be one of the best front-wheel drive systems around. I don't think your girlfriend will miss rear-wheel drive.
But the bmw might handle a little bit better.
I know that the BMW has also a very good steering feel.
But BMWs options are costly. Look closely at the options she will have to pay for before the BMW is as well equipped as the Acura. The Acura TL comes with everything standard besides the GPS system.
The acura is also a bit more powerful. It should be more reliable. And the fit and finish is incredible.
For me the acura wins. But the series 3 is always in the top ten cars in every magazines. It usually wins over the TL because of rear-wheel drive and steering feel.

I'd go for the BMW, it has a lot more prestige than an Acura, regardless of the price...and don't worry about that guy saying not to buy foreign cars....when American companies don't deliver the same quality as foreign makers, that is what happens..good luck

For both features and performance, the Acura is a much better value than the BMW. Conversely, BMW has a much higher "snob quotient". Whichever one is more important to her...

I am totally amazed by the American buying public desire to buy foreign cars, at the expense, and loss of jobs of American auto workers.
Give your head a shake, and look at some domestically produced vehicles

For a girl i would take the Acura.
thats imo ... its more of a girls car...
dont lissen to that guy above me... IMPORT FOR LIFE!
