I am currently owned by my first pair of Danes and they are easily the best dogs I've ever had for companionship.
Also, my female is my disability assistance dog. She alerts me when my blood sugar drops too low and will bring me the phone or my medicine. I really feel more comfortable leaving home now because she'll alert me and I won't have a 'sudden' drop anymore.

Yeah. I have a 3 year old, male, black great dane with natural ears. He was a rescue at 6 months. We enjoy him. He has some behavioral issues at times, but we believe his upbringing prior to us is the cause. I love the breed. I don't know too many people that have Danes. Obviously they can be expensive and they put drool all over the house. But he is very loyal to me and would protect me in a heartbeat.

I've owned Danes for over 25 years. I've had rescue Danes and Danes from breeders.
I currently have 2..a 5 year old fawn female who has her AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen), Her CD (AKC obedience title), Her RN (AKC Rally Novice title) and she is also a certified therapy dog with TDI and an 11 month old fawn male who I am showing in conformation (breed) class.He also has his CGC.
My female has cropped ears, my male has natural ears.
My dogs both love to go camping, go for rides, shop in stores like Petco and spend as much time with their people as possible. :)

I have a great dane/st. bernard pup. She looks more gd than s.b.; she is huge at 7 months weighing in at approx.100 lbs!! Her dad was a harlequin great dane.
