Here's the number to Nascar's corporate office in Daytona Bch.
Call and ask for Public Relations for Nascar... not the track
(386) 253-0611
Maybe if they get enough calls something might get done

In the race for riches in the sports world, NASCAR is on the right track. The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing is one of the most popular and fastest-growing spectator sports in the US. NASCAR runs more than 100 races each year in three racing circuits: the Busch, Craftsman Truck, and its signature Nextel Cup Series. Featuring popular drivers such as Jeff Gordon and Dale Jarrett, the Nextel Cup alone draws more than 7 million fans to the tracks each year. In addition to organizing and promoting the races, the association negotiates broadcast rights and licenses the NASCAR brand for merchandise. NASCAR was founded in 1948 by Bill France Sr. and is still owned by the France family.

I agree to many advertisements. Seems like they always do it every 10-20 laps. if they got to do it that much, why don't they have the little box in a corner of the TV with the race in it. They did it like in 96, 97 for the Dayton 500's. They should do it for all the races except under caution. Its not like the other sports where the players have to stop and take a time-out to catch a breather, get something to drink. Our boys don't get that. a quick cup of water during a 12-15 sec. stop. we are missing some great action. they just say "we'll break back if something happens", and by the time they do, the crash is almost or is over.

I wrote NASCAR 3 times last year about the amount of commercials that were being used during the race.Their response was to contact the television network.
The network stated they have to show a minimum of 75 commercials to break even.I think this was NBC,Fox had the comment it takes 60 in 3 hours, and that they use no more than on any other sport event?TNT comment it was according to the "mood" of the event.
The only thing in common was if they did not use commercials the races would become pay for view at around 20 bucks an event.

I wish they would have the split-screen like the IRL. Sponsors drive pro sports, but in events that don't have timeouts, the fans who aren't in the venues are being cheated out of watching the event in real time.

You are correct. Fox goes to a commercial every second they get and their pre-race show is about 40 minutes too long. Its all about making $$.
