Pica (eating things that are not supposed to be eaten), can be a sign of nutritional problems.

I don't think this is it, though. Does she pick her skin badly? I do the same thing. The picking disorder is called dermatillomania, and eating the skin is called dermophagia. It's a form of OCD, and if she has it, she doesn't mean to do it.. really.

well in one way it could..normaly when people eat things that are unusual...it means that their brain is sendin a signal to the body to eat that food because a nutrient in that food is deficent in the body...on the other hand, it could just be a bad habit...but most likely it could be a deficiceny..you should ask her family doctor.

yep gross.... could be OCD, could be a habit, and way more seriously could be similar to meth users who are caught eating their scabs to get the chemicals to help their fix.... ask her why she does it. that may get the answer you are looking for.
