It makes you one brave son of a *****. You should be proud of yourself and if you want to go into war again go for it. You have balls and you are extremely brave. If you go to war again hopefully you come back in one piece again.

Absolutely not. I have been out since 1997 and am now considering going in the national guard. There is nothing wrong with being proud, with being committed to serving those who don't, won't, and can't understand what it means "to serve." God bless you, and may you make the decision that you feel is right for you. At least you had the balls to serve, which is more than I can say about some on here. Rangers lead the way!
By the way, if you want a good unit, try for the 75th, they won't let you down and they look after their own better than the regular army units. Just some advice. Just remember, it's tough being a Ranger, but being one is it's own reward.

Not crazy or brainwashed. Just full of a sense of Duty. Do what you need to, and remember you can work as a contractor over there and make more money if you can't get back in the service. I've been out of the USAF for to long to join back in but I'm working on going to Iraq to Support Our Troops.

Please Support Our Troops and Civilian Contractors

Nope, you aren't crazy. My husband is on his third tour of I raq. He still feels that we are doing good over there.

That being said if your missing it because all you want to do is carry a gun then thats really not a valid reason to go back..

My husband thought about getting out but honestly, where else was he going to get a months worth of paid vacation every year, not including all the 4 day weekends (paid), holidays off, lots of half days around christmas time? He couldn't find a better job on the market for what he does.

He has been in for 14 years now and yes, he is a lifer. He loves the military life and would probably be lost in the real world.

Well my like-minded brother if youre crazy i guess i am too. I know I've had a good 40 yrs, and I'd gladly trade with a younger man so he would have the same chance to enjoy 40. Being a felon doesnt give me the opportunity to do this but I think they will see the things my way soon. I've screwed up my life so I should allow allow another man the opportunity to do something better with his life. It was implemented in Vietnam & I bet it'll happen again soon.

For starters YOU ARE NOT CRAZY. You were not crazy when you first joined and you are not crazy now for having the urge to go back in. I don't know you but if I did I would support you no matter what you chose to do. (Please do not take this as preaching). God put us all on this earth with a purpose, and I have to say not everyone knows what that purpose is, I know I haven't figured mine out yet. Maybe this is your purpose, to stand up and protect your fellow man. Do what is in your heart. As someone mentioned, war will not always be there but son school will be. God Bless & God Speed

No it does not make you crazy. What you may be finding out about yourself is that you were born to be a soldier. Being a soldier is apparently where you felt happiest and your life the most fullfilled. We called them lifers when I was in with in my case no disrespect intended. I wish I had stayed in because there is nothing like the feeling of belonging to the worlds greatest military.

Yes and yes. But, if you want to go and kill people that had nothing to do with 9/11 (it was an inside job, done by Bush and Co), go right ahead. Me, I was in the army and saw what a bunch of BS it really is.

Also, do you know that like 1 member of congress has a kid that is in the service? The richie riches sure aren't sending their precious little darlings to this war, never mind they voted for it.

If you do go back, I hope you don't lose an arm, a leg, a torso, or your eyesight. That makes it harder, especially since Bush doesn't like to give veterans any good benefits. And, Bush does NOT care about you, if he did they wouldn't send you there in the first place. Good luck with whatever you do.

nope you are not crazy, i am the same way too, i just got out of the military around nine months ago, i went to iraq from june to december 2004 and from that day i just want to go back, its not that i want to bust caps on any bastard that has an ak, i would if i have to, its just that i liked the feeling that im making a difference for the better of the people living there. call me crazy for this if yall want to, but if i was given the opportunity to go back, give me 2 hours and ill have everything taken care of, packed and good to freakin' go.
