It has been said that the temperature on Earth is getting hotter. In Al Gore’s; "Inconvenient Truth," I heard that a footnote stated; “The Sun is getting hotter” (I have not seen the documentary or read anything on his findings). In DVM’s; "Inconvenient Fact," I heard that the temperature on Mars is getting hotter. At this point in time, I know of no humans living on Mars. Why is the temperature on Mars getting hotter? The Sun is getting hotter. How can we stop Global Warming? Keep in mind; I’m not saying that the Sun is the only reason for “Global Warming,” we have all polluted the Earth. Reducing pollution and conserving energy should be a goal of everyone.
My SOLUTION for Global Warming:
NASA sends a “Sun Shield” with memory metal into space. When deployed, the memory metal will stretch the shield into a large circle or a square. The space shuttle’s astronauts will put the shield into orbit at a location that will block some of the Sun’s rays over a spot on the ocean. This will decrease the Sun’s rays that hit the Earth. Thus, decreasing the surface and ocean temperatures. Because of the decrease in ocean temperature, the number of hurricanes should decrease. Yes, there are more benefits. The size, number of shields, and locations need to be determined. Again, we all need to decrease pollution and conserve on energy.

Turn off the lights when you leave a room. Use fluorescent bulbs in your room.

· Turn off your computer or the TV when you’re not using it. Unplug chargers when not in use.

· Wait until you have a lot of clothes to wash before using the washing machine. Don’t use the machine for one item just because it’s your favorite shirt.

· Take shorter showers. Heating water uses energy.

· Close the blinds on a hot day if the sun is shining in. Dress lightly instead of turning up the air conditioning. Or use a fan.

· Dress warmly when it’s cold, instead of turning up the heat.

· Offer to help your parents keep the air filters on your AC and furnace clean.

· Walk short distances instead of asking for a ride in a car.

· Plant a tree.

· Learn more about global warming so you can talk to people about it. See: Could it really happen? or Global Warming Basics.

It's debatable if man can do anything about global warming. There's an increase in solar output involved... man's contribution may actually be minor in comparison.

We are in the middle of a NATURAL warming cycle which may or may not be getting amplified by mankind's greenhouse gas production.

However, there are things you can do that will save you money AND reduce your individual contribution to greenhouse gas production...

Change to fluorescent lights instead of incandescents. You can save the cost of the bulbs in as little as 6 months and the bulbs can last 4 to 9 years. (I have one that is 12 years old, but that's rare)

Avoid using the AC in your car. Just that can save you up to 5 miles per gallon. The average savings is 15% of your gas mileage.

Change your air filter in your household central heat/air unit. This unload the fan an allows the unit to operate more efficiently.. saving up to 10% on your heating/cooling bills. (not bad to be able to save $30 to $90 by replacing a $2 to $5 filter)

Every place you save on your energy bills, you are reducing your contribution to the burning of fossil fuels.

Raise peoples awareness so they will understand and not blame the messenger for news we don't like because we can't understand it. Even if ALL fossil fuel was banned world wide today ...your grand childeren will still feel great hardships for at least into the NEXT century! HAVE HOPE we're a adaptable species but have pity on the Earth's innocent that will perish because of our ignorance lack of immediate action decades ago ! Remember ole RONNIE-BOY? The first thing he did in office was to have the solar panels taken off the WhiteHouse ! What an act of treason !

There are a whole host of little things that we can do to make small differences that aren't going to really inconvenience us too much...

Switch incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent bulbs for less energy usage.

Walk don't drive on short trips or combine multiple trips all together for driving.

Use the most fuel efficient car you have and keep it tuned up and running well.

Better yet, use public transit instead of driving and get around for (typically) cheaper and greener.

Bike, don't drive to work and you can avoid the stress of traffic commonly associated with daily work commutes.

Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins (classy and saves waste).

Bring your own canvas/reuseable bags when shopping (or bring old plastic bags you can reuse).

Avoid products with excessive packaging.

Try to minimize waste, recycle more often, and use less energy in the home.

Low-flow faucets/showerheads use less water.

More efficient toilets use only 1 gallon or less in some rather than standard toilets commonly used in houses.

Airdry clothes instead of using the clothes dryer in good weather and you save energy, pollution, and your laundry smells great from the fresh air.

global warming ...it is caused my the human activitiy that is causing the burning of fossiel fuels
to slow it down maybe start riding your bike a little more than a car etc

Shoot Bush! - no not really - but getting him and his band of puppet masters out of office would be a start - that's no small thing you say - well it is - its a vote each.

Voting out nay-sayers - that's just 1 tiny thing that if we all did might have an effect.

Snag is people vote for vested short term interests - we've all gotta bite the bullet and vote for what's best for our children and grand-children in the long run.

global warming is caused by the burning of fossil fuels- coal, oil, natural gas-using electricity and water are both things that we use everyday that contribute to the the burning of these fuel sources; if everyone contributed by lowering our electricity output and conserving water the results would be shocking

Remembering to turn out the lights, conserving hot water, minimize driving, use bicycles or travle on foot as much as possible, drive the speed limit, avoid SUVs when 4-wheel drive or offroad travle is not needed, recycle, and buying energy star complient appliences.
