genus hominum : human race.
natio nationis : nation, race, people, breed /pagan people.
curriculum : a running, race, lap around the track, course.

The most common word you'll find is "gens". Be warned, though - the modern concept of race is just that - a modern concept. Ancient ideas about the topic, though in some ways similar, are in some ways radically different. Thus, there's not really any single word in Latin that covers the myriad connotations of the modern English word "race".

As noted, race did not mean the same in Roman times as now.But the Latin words that fit the concept best are:
Stirps
Genus
Stirps is more like a biological term, but it is the word used in neoLatin for race as we know it. Genus is currently used as a bilogical term, but its Latin use was closer to 'race' than 'gens'.
