no it is not. Once tthey are used there is no way to recharge them unless if they are the rechargable kind

I suggest doing an experiment. Turn on a device that uses batteries (like a tape player). After the tape player stops working due to low batteries take the batteries out and put them in the freezer for a day. Then put them back into the tape player and see if it continues to function.

It seems to work for me.

No. Making batteries cold only harms them. They don't work when cold and if you freeze them you risk making ice crystals that will destroy the structure.

Of course you can keep a charge longer in a fridge *without* freezing like the other guy said but you need to warm them up again to make use of the charge.

No but it will extend the shelf life of an already charged battery.
