I would say, as an external party, to not seek the relationship right now. Although you are best friends, it seems you have not gotten around him sleeping with your former friend. If it helps you in the decision, what drew the exfriend and the guy together? Were the too bf/ gf and you didn't approve, were either at a point in time where they were lonely and needed someone, were they drunk, was it mutual, was it a one shot deal that either regretted - look for these answers. Also, look at where your relationship is with him now - do you two know 'too much' about the other, do you have any other set backs in your relationship (outside of knowing he slept with the exfriend), if things go south in the possible future relationship - would you be OK with losing him as a freind? Whatever choice you make, be sure to safegurard your relationship with him as a friend. Good Luck!
