I think what you are asking is if a dog' mouth is cleaner (has less bacteria) than a humans. It an ancient question. It is a myth. Dogs do not have any super enzyme that kills bacteria. Nor just because the Myth Busters say so makes it true. This myth was originally started because statistics suggested that dog bites were less inclined to get infected over a humans bite. These previous surveys have now been discredited because they did not follow a standard set of rules for both species. Common sense should suggest that it isn't so. Dogs pick up decomposing animals and also use their tongues as toilet paper. Also, I've never seen a dog gargle with an anti-bacterial mouth wash.

They are not cleaner than all animals but they certainly are cleaner than our tongues. I guess we've completely adapted to relying on the toothbrush and toothpaste where as they have enzymes that break down bacteria right in their mouth.

On Discovery's MythBusters (my husband's favorite show) They proved that a dog's mouth is much cleaner that a humans. I'm not sure about the tounge... but i'm assuming that that's associated with the mouth. I'm not sure of all animals though. I'm guessing its up there!
