Went to church today and could almost predict what the pastor would say/do next to brainwash.. erm.. I mean "manipulate" his flock.

Christianity seems to have good marketing.

To bad Jesus has such bad management skills.

um. i don't know what kind of church you go to but either it is really messed up or you are. true christians DO NOT manipulate people. if this is what your pastor is doing then he needs to find a new career. a church leader should present their church with the facts (straight from the bible) and their opinion. they should make sure that the congregation knows the difference between these. i beleive that a person of faith should always obey the bible, but we are not bond to obeying mere human beings such as the pope or a preist. true, it is usaully very benificial to listen to such people, seeing as they have a greater education in the feild of ministry than we do, but we should also check their claims for ourselves, by looking in the bible. I agree, some pastors or preists can be currupt and manipulate people to believe lies for their personal benefit.these people are a disgrace to God and it is unfair that people like you look as these people as representing the Christian faith. I suggest you compare your pastors "brainwashing" to the true claims of the bible. If you still think he is using psychological tricks on his congregation, find a better church. but it also possible that you are just being close minded, in which case you just need to loose the attitude. but most importatly, STOP associating Jesus and Christianity with such manipulation. People who act like that have no right to call themselves Christians, and it is saddening what kind of a reputation they are giving us. Hope i helped.

I think that you should keep those kind of opinions to a minumum. Yes you have the freedom of expression but you are belittling what others think. Yes you can believe whatever you want but when others say something about your belief, you get offended. And no I do not think church services are manipualtion and I also just came from a church service. I found it enlightening and always learn something new. So mabey your mind is just not completely open to learn and accept new things. Oh and by the way...God Bless You

I do feel that the churches do use their power to manipulate people to their way of thinking. Which is not the way it is supose to be.

Yep, I've noticed it for years! And brainwashed is an accurate account of it.

Just because one church does it (and I notice you don't mention which one), they all must do it. Gotta love how that guilt by association logical fallacy works.

Even God calls preaching foolishness...lol

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. -1Corinthians 1:21
