I have been there. I know exactly what anxiety you are going thru. I give you a brief history. Hopefully it helps. I stepped on an already broken wine glass while walking on a white ceramic floor at a guest's party. A sharp pain went through my spine. Bleeding, the whole bit. I took out many fragments, and was satisfied that there were no pieces left. No further pain. But..... guess what? A year goes by, a corn like thing has developed in that area. My doc told me it is too late to do anything because it may be so tiny, the surgeons will miss it, I may end up with a possible severed nerve in my big toe (that's where the glass fragments were - under the big goe) and he advised me to leave it alone. Wish I had not listened. That happened 4 years ago. I am still walking around, no pain but the corn is getting bigger, numb in that area and the skin is growing very funny in that area, very hard and no feelings. I competitively jog regularly and I cannot afford to be in bed for too long. My advise? get it checked early. Be completely satisfied that all the fragments are out. Otherwise, you will have problems later.

Try a new sharp, sterilised sewing needle, you might have to dig under the skin a little or break it open more, you can do this carefully with the needle. It'll probably sting but you can work the piece of glass loose this way and then pull it out with tweezers. After its out wash your foot and then put some antibiotic oitment on it. If you just can't get it out you'll need to have a doc or nurse pull it out for you otherwise it could get infected. I actually pulled a small piece of glass(1/8 inch) out of my own foot last night. Used the needle technique

Get your foot totaly dry and take duct tape or an old bandaid (old ones are really sticky) and try to stick it and pull it out. If you know right where it is blob the area with glue from a glue gun and when dry pull the glob of glue off, bringing the glass with it.

try ice water soak for 15 mins to contract and numb the area (refresh the water with ice to keep it very cold) then you'll have to dig it out with a sterilized needle. Use good light to see better. Have fun...

i agree you should go to a doctor if its really bad...or more likely an emergency clinic or hospital. if you realy think its not bad but just stuck in there though, try soaking it in hot water to loosen up the skin and make it more plyable. see if you can sort of squeeze it out like a spliter (GENTLY!) but if not make sure whatever you use is steralized.

My parents were in a wreck and my dad got glass all in his left arm because the side mirror shattered. He went to the emergency room and all they did was give him a tetnis shot and told him to take a shower when he got home.
