dont go on fad diets that alow you to eat only certain amount and range of foods.
think of a diet as a way of life not something you are gona follow for a few days/weeks - those diet will make you gain even more when you "get off" of them.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Acountability of someone you trust to be tough on you. Anything you have trouble staying with can be helped by having a friend or significant other check on you and your progress; someone who understands you can't let yourself give up and will remind you of your goals and how happy you can become by reaching them.
Even better is if you get to be tough on each other!

It's called dedication.

What do you really want?
A body that the lazy have, or a body that dedication will get you?

You choose.

Get a hobby. And if it's cravings, chew gum.
