well to be honest it depends on how much your mortgage is. but to be perfectly honest, if you are going to enlist, the best bet would be to either sale the house or rent it out. unless of course you live next to a military base that you can be gauranteed assignment to.
the military gives a monthly housing allowance to soldiers with dependents. the amount is based on the average cost of housing in the areas surounding the base you are stationed at as well as your rank. as an E-1 through E-4, you housing allowance will not change. once you make the grade of E-5 it will go up and continue to go up with each additional promotion. if you are able to come in as an officer your housing allowance will be much higher. as a second leiutenant, you will receive about what a E-6 does. also you may have the option to live in base housing. if you live in base housing, you will not receive the housing allowance but you will also will not have to pay a water or power bill.
and being that you have 120 credit hours of college but do not have a diploma, i don't know for sure if you can get a commision or not. i do know that with that many credits, if you joined on the enlisted side, you would deffinatley come in as an E-4, bypassing the first three pay-grades.
i highly suggest that you talk to a recruiter. and talk to a recruiter from ALL the branches of military. if you want to live in a mud hole and be miserable but hard, join the marines or the u.s. army infantry. if you want a nice comfortable life, go with the air force. if you like men, join the navy.

You cannot enlist as an officer. You need to talk to a recruiter and see what you options are in relation to your college credits. You may be able to apply to OCS. However, due to your age, you may have to enlist into a job you are interetsed in and because you have so much college, you may recieve an accelerated promotion after basic training. If you are making good money now, why don't you go into the Air Guard or reserves and keep your current job?

You might go in as enlisted and get selected to Officer Candidate School but your debit ratio might keep you from getting selected. The military wants people with no ties to their past. It's like the saying if the Army wanted you to have a wife they would have issued you one. Also remember a 21 year old buck Sergeant commands 6-10 soldiers in life and death situations, your already at a disadvantage.

A classmate & friend of mine went in the Army after we talked. He went Infantry, Airborne, Ranger & was accepted into OCS as a Buck SGT. He had no college credits, but the men who join as enlisted and work through to E-4 OR E-5 level then go to OCS are truly respected because they know exactly how it feels to be an EM. College kids think those books make them smart, NOT TRUE!!! Bravery is rarely found in children who have done no physical labor ever. When you do see it you'd best try to get in his line of sight. He will be the one who has survivors not victims!!!!!

if you have to enlist you'll probably get a bonus if you go into a needed field...use that to off-set your mortgage payments while you make rank...also your earnings while in a combat theater are tax free...go navy or air force for the more technologically advanced schools, they both have excellent aviation fields that easily translate into civilian employment when you get out...i was a navy air traffic controller for 20 years and make a nice living at it since i've "retired"

If you are serious then you need to keep quiet and make sure you adhere to the don't ask don't tell policy. Some people would not have a problem with you serving but others will. CID here has investigated a few crimes where the victim was gay or even "acted gay".

None!
You may get into Officer Candidate School (OCS), but lacking a Battlefield Commission you have no shot without a degree! That has always been my understanding, but they are taking HS drop-outs again so I may be wrong!
You worried about paying your mortgage?
Why are you entering then? Have a death wish?

Probably not. You have no degree. You could enlist as a grunt though. Bush still needs people to die for Iraq.

Walked or not, you need your degree. After that it's about 100% that you can come on-board as as officer. (Assuming you pass the physical and are otherwise eligible.)

Sir I think you need to think about this decision real real hard.
You are going to end up in the middle of the desert in the middle of a civil war. I am all for serving your country.
But for this unjustified war? I think you should really really really think about it.
