I was going to ask this before, he makes beautiful movies like "Duvara Karşı" and "Temmuzda", movies with vivid scenes carved into my memory. I think he can qualify as one of the best turkish directors together with Yavuz Tugrul.

Yes. I just learned it.
Artık sinemamız da ilerliyor. Özellikle en iyi senaryo dalında ödül almamız beni daha da sevindirdi.

I have just watched the Palm d'Or live on NTV. I felt very proud of F.Akin's success. He was so confident when he spoke after receiving his prize. We need more people like him. Congratulations Akın.
